Wouter van der Wielen

Wouter is an economist in the Economics Department of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and a visiting professor at the University of Antwerp. He is also affiliated to the Department of Economics of KU Leuven. His main areas of expertise are macroeconomics, labour economics and fiscal policy, with a strong emphasis on policy evaluation. His research has been published in a range of academic journals. Previously, Wouter worked as an economic analyst at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, where he was principally responsible for the research developing macro-fiscal models accounting for output and employment effects of fiscal reforms. He holds a PhD in Economics as well as a MSc of Advanced Studies in Economics from KU Leuven.
