At 2degrees we champion different. We always have. We've proven time and time again that doing things differently, both in the market and internally, delivers.
We welcome different ways of thinking, working and living. We'll never ask you to fit-in; we'll encourage you to stretch-out and we want you to be yourself because well that's what makes you, you. And in return we'll support you to do great things and make a real difference through empowerment, flexibility and connection.
Because truth be told, our difference is you!
Here at 2degrees, our culture is super important to us. How we work and show up together is a key ingredient of our success. Our values motivate us to deliver on our purpose of Fighting for Fair - together.
We live by these values, not by rules – they’re who we are and who we aspire to be! They express how we want to be with each other, customers and communities, and we regularly celebrate our people living them.
Click on each emoji below to hear our people explain what that value means to them.

It’s in our DNA. We encourage our people to think differently and find new ways of doing things. Our business was built by challenging the status quo and innovating where others wouldn’t.
We've been fighting for fair from the get-go and we're not stopping! Our customers love it and even Canstar recognizes us being the fairest telco. We’re guided by our Values which allow us to be flexible and make better decisions.
To be different, we need diverse people and different ways of thinking. We also foster a wide range of inclusive employee groups to celebrate and build understanding of the vibrant, diverse cultures we’re lucky to have in our team.
We're humans too and have families, friends, pets and passions outside of work. We understand they all need to live in harmony and will support you to perform at your best – in all areas of your life.
Something we create together for our customers and each other. We inspire and enable our people to grow by cultivating a culture of curiosity and belonging.
Any one of us can make a difference, and that should be celebrated!

2degrees really cares about its people. It’s not just a place that talks about having a great culture and being inclusive, it actually takes proactive steps to ensure everyone is included, valued, given equal opportunities, and gets to celebrate their differences together. I think that’s what makes 2degrees such a great place to work at.
Our purpose is ‘Fighting for Fair’ and is applied in every aspect in the way that we operate. From serving our customers to caring for each other, we’re all treated fairly and given the best of what is available.
Flexible working is one that I use most often. I have two little children, so having the flexibility to work the hours and at places that suit me is so important for me.
Another benefit that I make use of are FairDays. At 2degrees, we’re encouraged to go out into the community and volunteer our time for a good cause. I have taken a range of different volunteering opportunities and am always on the lookout for more!
I’m also part of our DEIB Council and lead the Muslims at 2degrees group. This has been a great opportunity for me to get involved in promoting inclusion and diversity at 2degrees, and supporting other Muslims around our organisation to ensure they feel included and have their voices heard.
My favourite emoji is 😅. I love laughing about things whether it’s good or something that went wrong, because who doesn’t need a good laugh?
It’s also my default emoji in awkward situations or where I’m lost for words. So, you’ll always find it at the top of my emoji list!
The people are what keeps me working at 2degrees. I work with a bunch of really really amazing talented people who are always so helpful and willing to lend a hand when needed.
I also feel really appreciated in my workplace, across the almost 6 years of working at 2degrees I have had three different roles. More recently being promoted to my current role of Lead Business Analyst, so there’s definitely different internal opportunities available for those who are motivated and work towards improving themselves.
Recognition is also another one, 2degrees really goes out of its way to recognize those who do good work around the organisation. I love celebrating the successes of all the people I work alongside in different ways.
Outside of work I’m a mum, wife, and pet owner of 6 chickens and a cat. We don’t live on a farm but very close to one! I love being able to be around nature and animals when I’m not working or on my breaks during the working day.
I also had a side hustle which I sold earlier this year. I’m always on the lookout for new opportunities where I’m able to add value.
We are a challenger brand, a successful business that shows up and is not afraid to challenge the status quo.
I enjoy the subsidised internet services, mobile deals and if you stay for five years, an extra week off.
The banana dance emoji (not available on MS Teams but it’s on Slack) – a cute victory dance that just appears sassy and fun!
The people. Working for this business has allowed me to grow, learn and embrace many opportunities.
A foodie, so always keen on trying a new restaurant as well as which bar serves the best espresso martini.
2degrees grows you, there is no standing still in this beautiful company. Also, the goodness comes from the top down.
I have taken advantage of Health and Life insurance, zero phone bill, almost zero broadband bill, and have such regular bonuses, that I have been able to purchase my first home. My wealth in both knowledge and finances has grown immensely since joining the family at 2degrees. To be fair, these are only a few of the many perks I use. There are so many that I have not tried them all!
😎 Cool sunglasses guy is my favourite. Why? Because I’m laid back but professional and I feel it sums me up.
My leaders. I admire and enjoy working with my bosses immensely and I’d love to work at the Auckland Head Office one day.
I love spending time with my beautiful partner and fur babies doing household chores or escaping to Paihia for a day or two. I’m also passionate about fitness and used to be a professional musician, so am trying to get back into playing gigs again. Wish me luck!
As a grad, 2degrees has given me the opportunity to dip my toes in a variety of opportunities. I’ve worked in various departments across the business including Sustainability and Organisational Development. While I’m new to the corporate world, there has never been any hesitation for me to take the lead and ‘Own it’ with projects and initiatives like our FairDays volunteering program. I’ve loved the ability to try new things at work and be supported to grow in both my personal and professional development.
When I’m not at work, I loooove to be by the ocean. Summer hours and loooongest weekend are some of the awesome benefits we have at 2degrees that let me wrap up work early and head to the beach!
It’s gotta be . Heart is at the centre of what we do every day, spreading the love… one emoji at a time!
The people, the people, the people! Everyone is so passionate about the work they do and always willing to share their knowledge. The culture is unmatched, you can really tell that we’re all aligned with our ‘Fighting for Fair’ purpose!
I love summer beach days, so you’ll usually catch me by the coast with a good book!
We have a challenger mindset, its a part of our DNA. From our early beginnings we changed the telco game in NZ. We have an effect named after us. Yep, the 2degrees effect. How cool is that?! Our meeting and conference rooms carry the names of some of New Zealand’s best challengers and disruptors. It reminds me that I can be the difference. I can be the challenger that brings change. That is why we’re different. We’re thought leaders, we’re game changers, we’re 2degrees!
Our health insurance through NIB is awesome. It’s assisted me with dental and optometrist consultations. I receive a great deal for my fibre and mobile plan too. Work provides us with fruit and vege, I can make a pretty good smoothy out of everything. I’ve used our Employee Assistance Programme which at the time was a massive blessing. Oh, I forgot about Pizza at Auckland HQ on Thursdays. Thanks, 2degrees!
My go to emojis are the thumbs up, the salute, the smiley face with the shades on, the 100 and the cheesy big smile face. Special mention to the hang loose emoji - 🤙
I tell my friends and family “I don’t have a job; I have a purpose”. Its highly motivating understanding the difference. I have an opportunity to create a legacy with some amazing people here at 2degrees. My motivation is Te reo Māori and being a part of the Kaitiaki who will ensure its survival in this digital world. 2degrees is a massive ally of Te Iwi Māori and allowing me to carve this space out for us is what gets me up and in the office every morning.
You can find me all over the place. Outside of mahi I’m either at Kaupapa or Hui with our Marae or Hapu. In Te Ao Māori there’s always something on, Guests to welcome onto the marae, Organisations to host on the marae, blessings and openings to attend. Tangihanga, unveilings, you name it, I’ve probably attended it. Otherwise, if I’m not at hui I like to recharge by going home to our whenua in Waikato and Matauri Bay up north.
We had a Challenger DNA from the get-go – from introducing Carryover data to Data Clock, from Free OZ roaming on all our business plans to WIFI Calling, we are continuing to challenge the status quo and Fighting for fair for everyday Kiwis.
Making the most of summer hours and the longest long weekend means I can spend more time with my little boy, my family, and more time on the tools for my project cars.
😊 – Happiness
The sense of achievements – we provide solutions that exceed customer expectations, support our team and individuals to achieve their personal and professional goals, taking on new projects and enjoying the successes and learning from the failures.
I spend time with family, work on project Mini RWB Porsche for my little boy (Most people who have seen it said it was for me😊) and watch motorsports.
