Broncos WR KJ Hamler gained 11 pounds in the offseason

After a rookie season that was hindered by various injuries, Denver Broncos wide receiver KJ Hamler put on 11 pounds of muscle this offseason in an effort to improve his ability to stay on the field.

“I definitely feel the difference in my body,” Hamler said on June 3. “[I’m] just trying to stay durable. I did a lot of single-arm and single-leg stuff. More body-control things and band work for my hips just to get my body up to par. I know last year I played at 170. I’m 181 right now. I feel better, I feel stronger and I feel faster. Just trying to improve every day.”

Hamler’s teammates have noticed the change.

“He’s doing good,” wide receiver Jerry Jeudy said of Hamler on June 1. “I feel like he got a lot bigger and a lot stronger. He’s more confident in knowing the plays. I feel like he’s been doing good this year. Just progressing each and every day.”

Hamler caught 30 passes for 381 yards and three touchdowns last season.
