Apprenticeship Sponsors, Employers, and Partners

May JOIN or CREATE an Event!

You’re invited to join in on the planning of Alaskan National Apprenticeship Week events. National Apprenticeship Week is a nationwide celebration that brings together employers, industry associations, labor organizations, community-based organizations, workforce partners, education providers, and government leaders to demonstrate their support for apprenticeship. This year’s theme is Registered Apprenticeship: Superhighway to Good Jobs. We want to emphasize that Registered Apprenticeship is a proven tool for workforce development, expediting the pathway to good jobs while allowing apprentices to earn while they learn. In addition to celebrating the successes of apprenticeship, career exploration, skill demonstrations, and recruiting events are occurring across the country. Be sure to register your organization’s individual events on the national page and with me at shena.marcil@alaska.gov.

The Anchorage Midtown Job Center at 3301 Eagle Street, Anchorage, AK 99503 is hosting an Apprenticeship Career Fair on Wednesday November 15th for programs to share their apprenticeship positions with presentations, hands on activities, and a job fair style tables. We will have rooms 104 and 105 with tables for programs and employers to talk to career seekers.

  • Those who would like to do one or more presentations on their program should let Shena Marcil know:

    • How long so that presentation space may be reserved.
    • Equipment required: projector, computer?
  • If closing off part of the parking lot for bigger demonstrations is needed, let us know!
