ZipBy 4+

The ZipBy app itself is fairly simple and straightforward to use. However, when traveling in Vancouver at the start of July 2024, the lot/parking garage was a “test site” and had no postings or in-app directions about how we should expect the account to operate or charge us. I pre-paid in the app for the duration of our stay specific to the lot number; however, each time we left the garage, it charged my account for the elapsed time since last entering - it did not take into consideration that I had already pre-paid.

I submitted a customer service ticket asking for a refund of the pre-paid transaction and have followed up with two calls. It’s been 4 weeks and the refund has not been resolved. ZipBy seems to have potential as a really great and convenient parking service but hasn’t figured out their customer-minded communication or service tactics.

We apologize for the difficulties you experienced and the double charge. ZipBy is the payment app, but we are not the operator; that is EasyPark in Vancouver. However, we have reached out to EasyPark, and they are concerned about the double payment and want to rectify the situation.

Upon reviewing the app and your sessions, it appears that you paid for Lot 126, which is located next to the lot you parked in. Lot 126 is an ungated lot, and paying this way is correct. However, you actually parked in Lot 31, which is a gated lot that only accepts the automated system. Since these are different lots, they cannot see your payments.

Please reach out to us so we can rectify the overpayment on behalf of EasyPark. If you visit the area again and use the system to park, there is no need to prepay. Simply drive in and out, and you will receive a 10% discount off the posted rate using the system this way.

A very convenient use of the app when parking. Did not cause any trouble in getting in and out of the parking location. 10/10 a highly recommended download!

Unfortunately, the parking garage at my office requires the use of this terrible App for all monthly parkers. Joyce Parking in Annapolis ditched the old parking passes for an app that only works about 30% of the time. I’ve been hearing for a year that it will get better.
The app requires location tracking all of the time. WHY???? I do not want this.
Therefore, every time I use the app I go into settings to turn this feature on/off. There is absolutely NO reason for them to have location tracking on beyond when I am actually using it to get in and out of the garage.
