FINALLY!!!
Been waiting for this for years! Setup was easy and intuitive. Had my Drivers License and all four family vehicles linked to my account in less than 10 minutes. iPhone camera did a great job of scanning barcodes on DL and Registration Stickers which made adding them to my account very easy. Got a notification right away that two of the vehicles were within 90 days of their renewal deadlines and I was able to start the process right away, from my phone. Can’t wait for more services to be added… talking to you Texas Parks & Wildlife 😉

First impression
Very immature app. Scanning existing registration doesn’t work even though that functionality is in the app - manual entry does work. No option to specify credit card has same addr as the mailing addr I entered for the registration, so had to enter that twice. I clicked to start renewal on one vehicle but cancelled prior to complete - now the all says I can’t renew that vehicle because the record is locked, so recommends I login again in 24 hours when it has become unlocked. I wanted to renew multiple vehicles in one sitting but it made me choose between entering CC info for each renewal or saving my CC info on the govt site. I’d prefer not to save the CC info but that choice was a pain. It made me choose between mail or email notification of upcoming renewal - this is minor but why not allow both. Overall lots of data entry required to set up TxT, way more than renewing with TxDmv - I don’t understand why the TxDmv info couldn’t have been transferred automatically. Hopefully this is all one time initial use overhead and next year the process will be easier than TxDmv was…
To the developers - I understand v1.0 is usually missing functionality and ease of use. Please keep at it and improve it with time. Lots of potential here to simplify lives. Thx

Thank you so much for your candid review and constructive feedback. We will definitely share these insights with our team as we work to continue improving TxT for Texans. One quick note about the 24-hour lockout - we do realize that's a significant pain point for users. Currently, once you start the registration renewal flow, you have to fully complete the process in a single session due to back-end system processing by TxDMV. We are working to add more messaging that warns users about the ramifications of leaving the registration renewal flow in an upcoming release.
Application not working?
I don’t want to rate it low because this might simply be a bug.
I recently downloaded the app to renew my vehicle registration. Once I created my account and logged in, I realized that I couldn’t do anything. Every time I selected any option on the homepage it just flashed and nothing happened. It also shows a message on the bottom saying, “Unable to load your to-do list. Please try again later.” I thought maybe it was a bug so I decided to re-install the app but it’s the same issue. I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max so I don’t know if it’s not compatible with my phone or if it’s something to do with the actual app.
Hopefully this can be fixed quickly, thanks!
