Formal Complaint
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
——————
From the Desk of the Commissioner,
After formal inquiry by Membership has been made into recent updates to the PGA Chanpionship app, the Office has determined that any update to the app was pushed unnecessarily by the App Store and as an inconvenience to Players.
In interest of fairness, this determination was made based on the following factors.
▪️Upon review in App Store, the Commissioner actually had not updated either and no interruptions were experienced prior to update, nor required to continue.
▪️ No players reported issue with the App prior or after update, aside from the noted in which from inquiry was launched.
▪️ No reviews in the App Store referenced any issues.
As such, the update report of “Bug fixes and improvement enhancements” were considered thereby null and void.
As a result of this inquiry, please advise of this formal complaint filed on behalf of the Club for this unnecessary inconvenience.
The Club considers this matter now resolved. Please kindly inquire with the Commissioner’s Office with any questions or requests for further information.
Regards,
Noah Parsons,
Commissioner, the TCC Tour
Good, not great
If you are a casual golf enthusiast like I am, you download major tournament apps the week of the event (t.ex: The Masters, PGA Championship, The Open). Not intimately familiar with the courses, I rely on the apps to show me the lay of the land.
The Masters excels at this. The flyover provided by The Masters allows me to see the hazards and possible risks of each hole. In the PGA Championship app we are afforded a 15-30 video that is not customizable. That is to say, if I want to drill down to the undulations of the greens, I cannot. Additionally, mind-jarring music accompanies these video bits. I would advise turning down your volume…
I enjoyed following my favorite golfers in The Masters. I was kept abreast with scores and exciting moments in real time. I do not see the same robust production of the golfers stories in this iteration of the PGA app.
Complaints aside, the PGA app is absolutely a must download if you care about golf-even if you watch golf as casually as I do.
Can’t search tee times
New complaint: I want to know when my favorite golfers are teeing off before the championships start. In order to do that, I need to manually scroll every tee time until I see my golfer, and I can’t favorite them in any way. Please include a search bar that filters like every other app in the world has with a long list.
Previous complaint:The shot trackers on the app is ahead of the score? I often see when I click on a players name to expand their scorecard that their scorecard has a score but the players score on the leaderboard isn’t updated? Why aren’t these in sync?
