Maid of Sker does not support: iPhone X/XR, iPad 9th Gen, iPad Mini 5th gen, iPad Air 3 or earlier.

Maid of Sker is a first-person survival horror, set in a remote hotel with a gory and macabre history from British folklore. Armed with only a defensive sound device, you’ll utilise stealth tactics to avoid death amongst a cult of sound-based AI enemies.

Set in 1898 and inspired by the haunting Welsh tale of Elisabeth Williams, this is a story of a family empire driven by torture, slavery, piracy and a supernatural mystery that suffocates the grounds of the hotel.

- 3D sound-based AI system as the core survival mechanic
- Fusing psychological, gothic and British horror
- Realistic visuals, immersive environments and eerie atmospherics
- Famous Welsh hymns from the spine-chilling voice of Tia Kalmaru
- Re-imagining of the Welsh folk song “Y Ferch o'r Sger” (The Maid of Sker)

Editors’ Notes

Keep it down! Stealth and silence are crucial as you tiptoe around a cursed Welsh hotel in this tense survival-horror game.

Beautiful but controls are a bit difficult

Would be better with a controller but at least if we could move things around on the screen I keep drinking my potion by mistake trying to look around. Otherwise it’s got some great scary cut scenes.

Amazing game that suffers from the platform it’s on.

Starting off, this is a review about a game. I’m not docking anything off because of the platform. I’ve played this game through computer previously, and enjoyed my time with it. If you enjoy games like resident evil, you might just like this. I’m playing on an iPhone 13 Pro, which is a little bit older, so some of the criticisms might be invalid on newer devices. On iPhone, the game has limited resources, and is especially apparent when you look at the texture size. Even on a small screen, it’s very apparent that the texture used are a bit chunky as I have a hard time reading some of the details even on max quality. I would assume this is because of low amounts of video memory, or to have the game take up a small amount of storage (still impressive in of itself) TLDR; play this game if you don't mind a little low resolution texture, it’s definitely worth it. Play with controller if possible. If you don’t like the textures, play this on computer if you are able.
