Description
The FUTÁR application by BKK Centre for Budapest Transport has been renewed under the name BudapestGO, which, in addition to real-time route planning, has been extended with new functions: you can buy digital single tickets, daily and weekly travelcards or passes in the application and you can also be informed immediately about the current transport service changes. You can use the route planner with a cleaner and clearer interface, facilitated by a number of new features.
New features in the app:
- Ticket and pass purchase, journey planning in a single app
- Digital single ticket now also available
- Automatic pass renewal
- Traffic information (BKK Info application integrated)
- Personalised transport updates via push message
- Trip planning for trains and suburban railways available with a BKK-pass
- Simplified interface
- You can buy local or intercity tickets and passes for most municipalities in Hungary.

Disappointing application
I installed the application, I registered, I added the card to the application, but when I wanted to buy the tickets, it gave me a general error. The money was withdrawn from the account, but I did not receive the tickets in order to validate them.

Better avoid
Needs celular data for validating tickets (missed some rides in poorly covered areas) and it was unclear I had to validate them outside the vehicle (so I got a fine on first trip using it)

Sorry for the inconveience! Yes, you need to have stable mobile internet for the BudapestGO application. If you do not have a validated single ticket or a valid daily travelcard or pass, the ticket inspector has the right to charge you a penalty fare. Please always be informed about the rules of public transport (like you always have to validate your ticket before the travel) in a foreign country, so you can avoid these situations. Thank you for your feedback!
Literally a tourist trap
You buy the tickets, you think you are fine, but surprise: you must validate your tickets from the outside of the bus. What a stupid way of doing it, literally a tourist trap

We are sorry that you were not informed in advance of the travel rules in Budapest. When we go to a foreign country for the first time, we always check the travel rules before using public transport.
