appTaxi - Book and Pay Taxis 4+

This app saved my bacon when I needed to call a cab at 4:30 in the morning.

Sure enough, there’s room for improvement. The map doesn’t show some street names. Even when set to English, a few parts of the user interface still show up in Italian. The billing system works, but is unwieldy - it asks for two factor authentication not only when adding a card, but also for every order.

Nevertheless, it works in Florence, which cannot be said for any other taxi app I tried, so it deserves the stars.

I attended the TS concert at San Siro and decided to book a taxi in advance. The booking was confirmed, I even thought to book it for enough time after the event so that the taxi would be able to make it through the traffic.
The maximum estimate of the fare (120 eur) was blocked/taken from my account. They don’t call this a ‘transaction’, but the money still was taken and now, close to a week later, I have not received it back despite numerous emails back and forth.
I was at the meet point one hour in advance and waited for the taxi, traffic was slow but by the time of my reservation it had cleared up, the booking still appeared in the app. I waited for 10-20 minutes before trying to call the operator. The operator was rude, told me that the streets were closed and the taxi couldn’t come, despite the fact that I WAS THERE and could very easily see a lot of taxis come and pick up their clients. The operator then very rudely hung up on me. All of my calls were denied afterwards.
This left me without a taxi at 1 am, 120 eur lost and no prior notice. If it’s not obvious, I absolutely do not recommend this service.

The app doesn’t work at all. If you don’t put that exact address , with the number of building etc, it not works.
If you register a card, it says that is not compatible.
The map is not accurate and updated with the locations from Naples.
