Description
StageMix is an application for the Apple iPad that provides remote control of Yamaha QL digital mixing console functions via a simple, intuitive graphical interface from anywhere within wireless range. The software has been specifically designed to allow engineers to adjust monitor mixes from the performers’ positions on stage, directly controlling mix parameters via the iPad rather than having to rely on verbal directions to a second engineer. The result is better mixes in less time; a huge advantage during high-pressure pre-show setup. Although StageMix is focused on the requirements for adjusting monitor mixes on stage, its range of features is continually expanding, allowing it to be used for a wider variety of remote control functions.

Ratings and Reviews
Slow and unintuitive UI, bad UX.
The QL series are great consoles but the iPad app is nothing like it. The UI from the console does not flow into the iPad app. It looks so much different that it feels like using different consoles. Getting to EQs and dynamics and sends are pretty slow. You need to touch a lot and it will take you a couple of seconds before getting go where you want. Why the developers never chose to just copy the controls on the QL’s display is beyond my knowledge. This goes to the entire Yamaha mixing console line. The iPad app is just terrible.
There should be an overview screen for each channel for quicker access to controls just like on the console itself, instead, you got a screen full of gain controls when you select a channel. And there’s also no way to select a channel when you’re in sends on faders mode.
Yamaha, just look at the other iPad apps, for other consoles, sends on faders should just be as easy as hitting one button without going deep into hidden menus.
I have used a lot of iPad apps for live mixing controls and this is just one of the worst ones out there.
