Description

Xcode offers all the tools you need to craft great apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro, and Mac. It enables a unified workflow that spans from the earliest stages of app development to testing, debugging, optimization, and app distribution to testers and users. And with the Swift programming language, Xcode makes developing apps easy and fun.

Xcode includes a world-class code editor with an on-device machine learning model trained for Swift and Apple SDKs, a built-in preview tool that shows the UI of your app as you modify code, and a powerful debugger with conditional breakpoints.

Xcode also includes companion tools to help you rapidly prototype and test your app. Simulator enables rapid prototyping and testing your app in a simulated environment when a real device isn’t available. Instruments helps you profile and analyze your app, improve performance, and investigate system resource usage. And you can use Reality Composer Pro to create 3D content, train custom machine learning models with Create ML, and identify potential accessibility issues with Accessibility Inspector.

To test or run applications on an Apple device, all you need is a free Apple ID. To submit your apps to the App Store you must be a member of the Apple Developer Program. Some features may require Internet access and may not be available for all regions or on all Apple devices.

XCode 13 iOS 15 issues

Hi! Since upgrading to Xcode 13, I've been getting weird errors and behaviors on the apps that I have developed. Some of which are:

• My tabBar's background suddenly becomes transparent when switching to other tabs, and returns to normal upon clicking specific tab, even if no tabBar changes were applied.

• weird [MTLDebugDevice traceStream] exception crash that usually happens once when mapKit is being loaded (although it happens once and not reproducible successively, unless if done with other devices, currently tested on simulator only)

You may want to look at this cases as I have noticed other developers having similar experiences such as mine.

Thanks!

Too much work just to run a small .exe file

All I needed to do is to run a small .exe file (which did not have a .dmg version) in my MacBook Air, and first I needed Wine to work (nearly half a gigabyte of download), and with my 100 something kbps Internet speed. Turns out I needed to update my software, which meant I had to go through an entire 6.0 GB software update which I had to constantly monitor, and it restarted halfway through.

The software update was already nearly 10 GB of my data used up total, and data is expensive here. After wasting a few hours trying to get that done, I found out I needed to download another 7.8 GB to update my Xcode, which was too much mobile data for a day (I rely on mobile data since Wi-Fi is nonexistent here).

Then around the 4 GB mark, the download just stopped and would not continue. I could not afford to restart it, but even that was impossible. Now after wasting many hours of valuable time, lots of money, and months' worth of data allowance, it all seems useless since Xcode is not updated, Wine will not run, and the .exe file will not work. And I'm not sure how to proceed with this.

This really is too much work just to run a small .exe file.

Simulator Freeze UITextField

Simulator is freezing upon tapping UITextField. I first experienced this issue on Xcode 11.4, but now I'm using Xcode 11.7 and it's still happening. I know there are workarounds on this, but it would be better if this can be fixed as this gets annoying sometimes. Thank you!
