SmilePH, our digital servicing app, is at the center of our omni- channel servicing model. The latest version offers access to both group health and individual life policies. Today, our group health customers can conveniently view their group health policy benefits, request Letters of Guarantee (LOG), manage their dependent’s policy, find accredited hospitals and doctors, and file medical reimbursement claims. For those with individual policies with us, they can now manage plan details, get premium reminders, receive statement, request for a copy of e-policy, and check fund values.

Needs improvement

The app is very laggy. Needs few minutes to load to the next screen every time - from log in, to requesting for LOG, to viewing your LOG.

But my worst concern is you can only request for 3 lab procedures for each LOG request. This is very inefficient if your doctor has requested for many lab procedures as you need to request LOG many times. Once, i had to request for 10 procedures (fbs, lipid profile, creatinine, sgpt, sgot, urinalysis, tsh, ft3, ft4, various xrays), and only the first two was approved immediately. The following requests had expired.

Somehow useless

Sending files to this app seem useless. I upload files requirement such as photo of receipts and prescription and out patient form for reimbursement but most of the time, I will get a text saying I lack requirements as what I sent becomes blurry, corrupted, or worse, none at all. I don’t know if they are just reasoning out with their incompetent app (as incompetent as their service). I always upload with great internet connection. I woild understand if it was just one or two incidents but most of the time that I do it goes lacking requirements?? Not to mention their response time is so archaic. I submitted the request for reimbursement knowing its going to be processed but only to come back with this bs reasoning that I lack requirements because of their system’s failure to keep my uploaded file.

This app has a potential to be great. Just people working behind this to respond to its clients needs is terrible. This company is trash. They don’t care about the clients. They disrespect their time and energy by making them wait for their process. No one answers their hotline. Or you will need to wait minimum of 3hrs. They don’t care if you have emergency. They just get clients payment for subscription and they provide little to no service at all. Incompetence at its finest.

Request for approval lapsed without any update

At first use, the app was working. I was able to set my annual medical exam using it. But for succeeding LOG requests, no update was done and I had to do it for more than 5 times just to get my requests expired. Inquiry is not working as well. It’s a little frustrating. It could have been used to better facilitate requests and queries but it’s not working. Just go to the clinic and hope the tests you have done will be approved. I hope this is not a case of HMO companies limiting their approvals so that they will profit more. I hope the process gets improved. I know people take advantage of these benefits provided by their company, not only when they are sick and I think that’s better ‘cause getting sick is much more expensive. I hope people get the benefits that they’ve been promised of.
