Dropped the ball
Often I cannot get anything delivered in my area. The support is useless - I feel like I talk to poorly implemented chat bots (yes, after I am connected to a “real person”). They can’t answer questions directly or don’t understand them. They are just going through a script. They also lie about “high demand in my area” - there are just no drivers.
The app itself is ok, but what is the point when I cannot get any deliveries?
Waiting for an hour as an order is being delayed is frustrating and neglectful to the customers. If there’s no chance I get a delivery, just tell me that and save my time. When that is clear as day for me as a customer, surely you can know that on your side ahead of time and inform me.
Awful customer service
I am really disappointed with the customer service I have received. My friends and I did a group order (but paying separately), and the delivery took over an hour despite the restaurant only being an 8 min drive away. The food we received was ice cold, and our milkshakes completely melted.
We complained immediately and the originator of the order was issued a partial refund instantly (only $30 of her $50 portion of the order). We assumed the rest of us would be given the refund too (given we had a group order), but after 10 days the payments weren’t in our accounts so we each complained individually. One of the group managed to get a full refund on her portion of the order as she got through to a human customer service representative. However, I was stuck with their AI customer service which kept repeating the same statement “looks like you have already used our self service refund service and have been issued a $30 refund”. In actuality, over a month later and I still haven’t received any money from my order. I believe it is recognising my friend’s partial refund as mine despite the fact that we paid separately.
I have not been able to get through to an actual human and am appalled at the service. I will never use Uber eats again and will encourage others to switch to a different service if available.
I’m shocked with the customer service
I’m shocked with how I was treated by the customer service after I waited 1+ hours for my order! The driver mixed up orders and ended up delivering our order to another client. A girl from the Uber Eats call centre called me saying that I didn’t need to worry because I wouldn’t be charged for it and simply said BYE. Didn’t let me make any questions, I asked her to wait cause I wanted to say something and she simply disconnected the call. I had been waiting for 1h for my order, I didn’t want a refund, I wanted them to get the restaurant to prepare a new order and give some priority to my delivery, because if I ordered again I would be depending on drivers delays delivering orders to addresses on the way (which is so annoying). Tried messaging their chat and simply no one could do anything to help, they would just keep saying that I was going to be refunded, which to me didn’t matter st that moment, I was just hungry.
I’m definitely deleting this app from my phone and never ever again will use their services, and will advocate against them to everyone I know. What an unpleasant experience. And they have been charging such high fees lately. Very disappointing.
If you’re in New Zealand, I recommend you to use DELIVERY EASY. They have way better customer service and fair price.
