Here’s my true experience . Facts.

The audio fidelity streaming with my modest Sennheiser Bluetooth headphones is superior to any 16 bit cd player I’ve owned. Fact. Tidal hifi truly surpasses all other streamers in audio fidelity . Fact. For better audio, download your album. Fact. Tidal have won the audio competition & customer service is outstanding for me as I made a mistake signing up -Be careful to CHECK your correct email address when subscribing or you can’t verify your email. Sorted . Fact. For under $20 hifi ,Tidal is a winning leader. Tidal provides artists you may also like but don’t expect a total catalogue of albums eg 80s electronic. Congratulations Team Tidal, I will reward your services with another subscription for your assistance alone !

Good high quality

I’ve tried Tidal out several times over the years, it’s getting better convenience wise.

I have Dynaudio Confidence C4 speakers and Hifiman HE1000 V2 headphones so I can appreciate some of the benefit of the higher resolution afforded by Tidal. If you have good gear and a decent quiet space then I highly recommend Tidal. If you’re after the most convenient means to stream your music I would rate Tidal 4 stars verses the competition.

If you use Roon, Volumio, or even Sonos to connect and control your Tidal subscription then convenience goes back up to 5 stars.

Only constant complaint that I’ll say here is that the heavy skew to rap and hip hop stuff along with particular artists (the ‘founders’) could be dialled down. Then I could just sit back and listen to what matters most, the music.

Enjoy!

A good app (mostly) for a great product

I generally enjoy using Tidal. High quality streaming that pays artists 50x per play over the other one. The quality of recording and range of artists is such that I rarely miss content, and find that most bygone artists have their full discography.

There are a few things that I find frustrating — such as not being able to sort downloaded albums. I think the default is by download date 🤯.

Another feature I would love is collapsible albums in the queue – that can be dragged in any order. And adding a new song/ album adding at the end of the queue…just like real albums. But no apps have those features.

Developer Response ,

We’re happy to hear you enjoyed our catalog, but it looks like we fell short on sorting downloaded content and collapsible albums. We are exploring ways to improve for TIDAL subscribers and appreciate you sharing your thoughts.
