Neighbourly 4+

Folks I use the neighbourly market place function and have both bought
And sold using the platform and find it very effective
However one function seems to cause a little frustation is ads that stay on the site after they have been sold sometimes for many weeks
I understand that there is a responsibility for the seller to remove the item once it is sold but this seems not to happen is there any practical fix for this ..? Thank you regards

I have been on Neighbourly for sometime but due to ‘grammar police’ and public posted offensive comments by individuals outside of my direct neighbourhood I have left. If you suggest remote diagnosis of conditions isn’t needed you yourself become a target where these individuals will read all your pre-edit posts to pick holes. Unsure whether influx of this behaviour is due to the Stuff publication ceasing Facebook links but Neighbourly do not monitor replies and behaviour on the platform in a valid manner. By the time a report of abuse is processed the damage is done. Simply not a ‘neighbourly’ or beneficial site to be involved in...more a journalism and advertising link that enables trolls. Simply toxic, damaging and not needed in its current state. Sadly active moderation needs implementing. Being linked to Stuff you also wave your right to privacy away as there is no way to state or select wishes of ‘NFP’ or not for publication. You need to write NFP on every reply or interaction. Cautious use is a must.

Besides being primarily a media advertising and bias media comment gathering, look at the way they pose the questions when asking for opinion or experience on an article they are running on Stuff, but the biggest concern is when you sign up and have to enter your address it displays your full address for all verified nearby neighbours to see and are actually notified of when you first sign up. You actually have to change the settings in your profile to hide this information but by then it’s already been distributed. When this was raised previously a staff members replies to comments raising privacy concerns were phased in a way as if they were answering as a user and didn’t see a problem as it was only available to a restricted set of verified members. When identified identified them as a staff member they no longer engaged.
