Now You can easily find metallic objects that are hidden underground, behind walls etc. , or be a treasure hunter or ghost hunters, also see a reading trend through the graph.
Simple app in your device called Gauss Meter are used for measuring the Earth's magnetic field but can't detect silver, gold, copper coins (non-ferrous - no magnetic field).
This Magnetometer app require a magnetic sensor otherwise does not work.

Good metal detector (for magnetic metals only)
It’s a good metal detector, it can detect magnetic metals underneath 2.5 inches thick surfaces of any material. It detects magnetic metals using the built-in magnetosphere in your phone that is used for the compass, which is why only magnetic metals can be detected (most commonly iron). It seems that it won’t be detected that good on my camera versus the exact other side of the camera. Like imagine if the camera was placed left to right, right is where it detects best. Use the opposite placement of your camera and see the results.
