The Map App I Recommend to Everyone

Simply because it:

1. Respects user privacy unlike Google and other American cos.
2. Offers offline maps that work just as good without internet.
3. Offers voice navigation.
4. Offers traffic insights and speed alerts.
5. Well-thought user interface and well-designed maps.

What can make it better:

1. Collections feature should not require a Here account. Allow users to bookmark and save specific locations on their device itself. Offer Here account to sync and save this data to the the cloud and multiple devices.

2. Needs a "Railway mode": Even though Here maps has railway networks mapped, it cannot detect when I am travelling by Indian Railways even if I specify my source and destination as railway stations. If the user is allowed to switch to a "Railway mode" Here maps can show the user the railways network on the map and alert them (by voice or notification) whenever the next railway station is about to be reached.

3. Maps need to be updated more frequently in India. We've added more than 50,000 kms of new roads and many cities now have Metros too. But Here maps has been slow to update these in my country. For example, Here maps still doesn't have information on Metro stations in Bangalore (KA, India) and Kochi (KL, India).

3D renders of multiple places of interest.

The place where this app is winning for me is how crisp and how detailed their maps are and they provide 3D renders of various infrastructure in India which Google Maps and Apple Maps have been lacking even after having presence in India for so long. The only part I felt a bit let down was updating the map data on a timely basis because many things shown on Here We Go maps does not really exist and seems like they didn’t update it in last 3 years or so to say. If they work on this then this app deserves a definite 5 star rating.

Always loving this app “but”

Hey guys...love your app. Every since you guys launched it! Recently I noticed I’m not getting the English “normal” male or female voices, just robotic voices which I dislike a lot! Also please add detour option as well, eg: if I’m going somewhere and I need to pick up someone or go to the rest room or fuel up, I can use this function for adding route. Another option would be off-road tracking, if I go through a road off-road the app should ask is this a new road or off road, and I will select which is right and then the app will save it and delivery this info online to other users. Thanks.
