Description

The range of size in the universe, from the tiniest particles to the epic galaxies - we take you on a journey of size that let’s you explore it all with a single swipe. How big is a planet, compared to a human? And how small is an atom really? You can’t fully wrap your head around the scope of things by just reading about them – so this app lets you experience them in comparison to get a feeling for their true scale. By simply swiping you can zoom in and out all the way from the world of fundamental particles up to the largest stars at the edge of the observable universe.

Seamless zooming between the scales of 10^-35 meters to 10^26 meters (no math required)

Amazing fun facts for various scale levels, like the smallest bacterium and the largest black hole

Tap any object for an explanation of what it is and how it works

Beautifully animated illustration of more than 250 objects

Amazing app

I love Kurzgesagt and Wait But Why so it was an obvious decision for me to buy the app and I have no regrets! The app is beautiful, just like all Kurzgesagt videos (I am glad Tim didn’t design it lol) and it’s so easy to get lost in it, with that great music, it’s just amazing. It also works perfectly on my iPhone, I didn’t experience any bugs (actually the music cuts sometimes when it’s starting over, but barely noticeable). Awesome work, I hope they keep creating more stuff inside the app or either another app, I’d love to zoom in inside a human for example till the size of the atoms and then zoom out to the earth, Sun and keep going, but maybe that’s too much to ask. Anyway, I LOVED IT! Highly recommend!

Brilliant idea

Such a cool idea, I love it! To improve: 1. Add more 2. Give longer more scientific information. So you provide a quirky easy to understand intro to each item which is great, but it would also be even better if you could scroll past that paragraph and learn more of the actual science behind the item, in that way if young users or those not interested in more of the science they can choose just not to scroll down. 3. I think it’s misleading to have the “largest” or “smallest” of something like the “largest bacterial cell”, without including the “average size of a bacterial cell”, so either change this to average size or include smallest, average, and largest, as it is people may come away thinking bacteria are larger than human egg cells which in general is absolutely not true. In conclusion, amazing idea glad I brought it, some things to be added and updated to make it even better!

Fabulous! - a few points to improve

Great and beautiful app! I won't detail why because enough other comments do it.

Just a few points:

1- I think there's a mistake in the temperature numbers of the sun: it says 1.5 million celsius at the core of the sun (27 million F), while it's 9 million celsius in the surrounding atmosphere (17 million F). So I think it should be 15* million celsius at the core.

2- it would be nice if we could move along the screen without zooming/dezooming, because sometimes when we're looking at an item, we want to see one of the larger items next to it, but without dezooming such that the smaller item becomes invisible, and so we're stuck because currently we can only see the edge of the larger item, for example. If we could move the images, we could re-center on the larger item without dezooming.

3- elaborating further in the direction of point 2, ideally if we could move objects around to reorganize them and compare them, that could be fun!

4- each object description could include at its bottom a link towards either Kurzgesagt videos that discuss it, or other websites that can give more information on the object.

-----
Anyway, thanks for this app and keep up the good work!😊
