MindPal - Brain Training Games 9+

I have been using this app for 6 months and highly recommend it. It is very enjoyable to use without being addictive. It has definitely helped my cognitive abilities in the multiple areas that it focuses on. This is benefiting my daily life and also my work. I believe that it is helping to slow down the effects of aging. My memory has definitely improved, for example, as has my ability to manage projects and multi task. I am more efficient at carrying out tasks (eg accounting and book keeping). I believe that learning new skills is a great way to keep the brain healthy as we get older so have also been working on my mental maths and memory skills in particular. I enjoy seeing how my abilities compare to other people in my age range and working to improve my ranking. I have recently bought a version of the app for my 93 year old father and do a session with him every time I visit. I don’t understand why people object to paying for apps and expect to get all these benefits for free. I use it every day, appreciate the work that goes into developing such apps, look forward to receiving updates so it seems fair to pay for these services. I think it is excellent value for what I am getting from it. After 6 months of use my scores are plateauing but I think that there are still enough areas that I need to improve on to keep me using this app in the months ahead.

I don’t usually buy games after a trial period because I’m so picky and don’t like to spend money on things I won’t use. (I also don’t often leave reviews!) I play this every single day and now it’s just part of my daily routine. It helps me gently wake up and get my brain doing stretches instead of that awful morning anxiety! There is a good variety and they are all simple but still challenging. I like the fact it offers you one alternative game for each of the 5 you do as part of your daily workout. After that you can play any game as much as you want. Sudoku blocks is quite addictive but relaxing! I love that there are very specific grammar related games eg. removing the extra word. It’s also a great vocab builder. It can really help you improve confidence with maths as it has with me!
I’ve tried a few brain training games and this is the only one that has stuck!

I’ve just finished the 7 day free trial, and have been suckered into signing on for the annual subscription as I like the layout, animations, sounds, and activities themselves.

Although there is a vast amount of activities and variety (for a new user), and will make it hard to get bored any time soon-having signed on for a year-this will inevitably happen, and seeing as this game is good to keep one’s brain fluid, increased variation is necessary, your biggest apparent competitor Elevate - Brain Training, have more activities available, although not as stimulating and enjoyable as yours, hence my choosing you over them, but my very long point finally made short is, keep updates coming and increase activities over time, don’t leave us in the dark or else this renewal will be the easiest cancellation I’d have to make.
