Light Region, named in honour of Colonel William Light, the first Surveyor-General of South Australia is situated only an hour’s drive from Adelaide.
Nestled between the Clare and Barossa wine valley’s, Light is a region rich in heritage and the history of pioneering endeavour; abundant in agricultural diversity and spectacular landscapes; intriguing in artistic and cultural character, and enticing in food and wine experiences.
From tranquil walks in the natural beauty of the Heysen or Mawson Trails to the heritage of Kapunda and Freeling and world famous wineries and terroir of the Barossa, there are many attractions, trails and sites to be toured and discovered.
