Extremely helpful, very intuitive app! I never was keen on plants but somehow this app made me like plants and recognizing stuff in the woods, haha. Satisfied!

I'd suggest supporting Czech language, maybe implement names through Wikipedia. Let me give you a reason why. Czech Republic has a huge "countryside cottage" community (one of the biggest in the EU), lots of people keen on gardening. Vast majority of people travel on weekends to countryside to their cottages and I think they'd appreciate Czech language support.

I great app, but made almost everything paid

Hi, I use this app for a long while now and when they started to monetise things I didn’t really mind. After all, it’s a great app and I’m glad the makers get money from it. But slowly they took almost everything from the free version. I take a picture of my plant and they tell me it looks sick, but won’t even tell me what is wrong. I don’t mind if they hide behind premium for example what to do or what caused it, but please please at least tell me what’s wrong with my plant. Like I said, hide details or things, play lot of ads, I don’t care, but just let us see what’s wrong with our plant, don’t just say “this plant looks sick”, please make us to be able to look what is actually happening with our plant and make premium for example the cause or what to do and other things. That’s all I wanted to say, thank you.

Good but hardly perfect. Not even close.

Firstly, let me say that PictureThis is very nice app. For most people it will suffice in their plant world exploration. However, it would be naive to expect too much from it.

In my little test it hit accuracy of about 50-60%. Mostly very easy to recognize, notoriously well known plants. Very often the app suggests American cousins of their European counterparts. Well, I say close enough, but most people don’t have my knowledge. In specialty plants is is quite weak. For example any kind of orchid the app recognizes as Cattleya.

Note to developer: I saw people asking for mushroom recognition feature. You need to realize that people in many corners of the world pick and eat mushrooms. That’s why they are asking for recognition help. Unless you want to wind up in a nasty lawsuit, I would stay away from that if, I were you.

Good news is that our new product Picture Mushroom is available in app store now, which specializes in mushroom identification, but please be aware of the potential danger of them.
