Description
After excessive watering, lack of light is the second most common cause of death of indoor plants.
Better light conditions will keep your plants healthy.
Measure your plants’ ideal light levels for the price of a cup of coffee!
How to use:
- Launch the application
- Point the camera toward the plant’s leaves
- Press the “Measure” button
How to interpret the measurement:
- Very low light: Difficult conditions for plants to survive.
- Low light: For plants that can tolerate low levels of light, such as the aglaonema, parlor palm, and philodendron.
- Medium light: For the majority of indoor plants, such as the Dracaena, Pothos, and spider plant.
- High light: For plants that love light, such as the zebra plant, areca palm, and croton.
Features:
- Detection of natural light & artificial lights
- Compatible with rear camera only
Notes:
This application allows you to measure the light levels of indoor plants. However, if you need very precise measurements, the use of professional equipment is recommended.

No camera permissions
Ever since last update, it’s impossible to use the app. It requires camera permissions but there is no such option in the settings 🤯
Developer Response ,
Sorry to here about that.
Please launch the Plant Light Meter app on your device, tap the Settings Tab, tap on 'Report an issue' so we can better assist you.
In most cases, when the app detects that it has no camera permission or lost the camera permission, it displays a message Box 'Camera access required for measuring the light'.
Under this message, 2 options are displayed: 'Allow' and 'Cancel'. Tap the button 'Allow'. Your iPhone's Setting page will open automatically. At the top of this setting page, there is a section called 'Allow Plant Light to access'. You should see several icons. One of them is a camera icon. Just 'turn on' the gray switch at the right side of the camera icon. The gray switch should turn green. Hopefully, it will fix your issue.
If it doesn't fix the issue, another simple solution is to delete the app, go the app store, download the Plant Light Meter app and run the app (you won't be charged twice because the app store remembers that the app belongs already to you). When you run the app, the iPhone will ask you if you want to give access to the camera, tap on the button 'Ok'. Please tell us if it fixes your issue. Thank you!
