Enjoyable if particularly challenging at times

Yes, it appears to be a bit of a rip off of The Room series, but is sufficiently different from The Room to stand up on its own. I would rate the puzzle challenges as somewhat harder than the room overall, and did rely on hints more.

I find that I did struggle with one aspect here, more so than The Room, and that is the way that so many puzzles seem to be puzzles for puzzles sake. The Room tried to deal with this (with some but not complete success) by embedding successive puzzles in layers, thus lending to a sense of purpose as each layer is penetrated. But there were times in House of DaVinci where I just felt that the puzzle was obtuse and complicated and roundabout just because. Fun? Yes, still fun, but with a degree of pointlessness that made me feel less engaged with the game. It's probably a tough criticism to level at a game like this because well, that is what this game is all about, so I suppose many won't agree with me on this. Either way, I think you'll still enjoy and appreciate the game and I highly recommend it.

Great game!

Ima keep this short since I always end up writing huge paragraphs on game reviews, it’s very similar to the room, at which point I thought it was by the same people, but what I like to think is it’s more of a spin-off to it rather then a knock off I like to imagine that after our adventure here the glass thingy was then given to another person playing the room so sorts like that, I haven’t thought to much about it but I like to think it ties in with the room, also can be pretty hard but I got threw it without any tutorials, apart from one which was really brief and didn’t really help too much, but great game good gameplay and mysterious makes you want to keep playing and find out who that winged man was and who was following us and who tried to stab us, when we jumped in the portal, also it’s more Likely I would have soccer punched him but meh I guess jumping into the portal works too

Nice, but not new.

Yes, it is a nice game, but it's clearly a direct copy from The Room, there's hardly a single new idea in it, even down to the oculus. So since it's such an obvious copy, I'm using it as a comparison. The problem is, if you don't live up to the same standard, the copied result becomes noticeably inferior. This game does not have the same elegance as The Room. I've had to apply some persistent tapping to make things work, and I've had to engage and disengage the oculus a number of times in close succession before it would work. Some of the points of interest are so close together, tapping to select the point I wanted became a task in itself. Some of the puzzle sequences also become tedious. When I played The Room for the first time, I could hardly put it down again. This did not occur for me when I played this game. I'm sure the cost of this game was justified by the work put into it, but I didn't feel I got value for money. I think the developers would do better if they put this effort into something original.
