Sorted³ - Calendar Notes Tasks 4+

For years I have fiddled around trying to find a great todo list manager. They all came up short. Then I found Sorted3. It is amazing. Simplicity and sophistication together. It could not be easier getting a task or idea into the list. But this is just the start! Once in the list, at the appropriate time you can determine when the task should be done, how long it will take and any other resources you may need. The auto schedule feature is so great (some say the best feature but in fact it is the combination of the Apps features that make Sorted3 so useful). With the list of items you need to complete (some fixed some floating) you can ask the App to schedule your day and Bang! it is done. You do not become a slave to Sorted3 either. The App is built on the understanding that the best laid plans change and probably should. While it is a productivity App Sorted3 is also a happiness app. You will not forget anything slotted into the ToDo List but nore will you be made to feel inferior if you move things around. The app trusts you will be able to tell it your most important tasks and give it the information to help you. I have been using it for 2 months now and prior to that was a struggle. As an ex productivity consultant I've tried a lot of so called productivity tools. Mostly they are just list makers - sometimes if you are lucky you may see your appointments at the top of your task list but you can't see the whole day spread out before you with appointments and tasks in the same view. There are a few improvements I would suggest but overall trust me on this that if you pay for the one off upgrade to professional you won't regret the ability to auto schedule what you think you can get in a day from your task list. You will find that it's too easy to overestimate what is possible despite putting buffer's around the tasks. That's life... we always think we can get more done than is possible - unfortunately. I'm learning that it's best to look at the schedule the night before and choose just three vip tasks - once they are done sure I can add more but if I ever add like 5 quite big tasks around normal life like shopping for food, cooking, going to the gym and exercising the dog it's easy to see an 8-9 hour day on top of those things is unrealistic. Sorted helps with all this enormously. I am very happy I found this when looking for a scheduling tool without a huge monthly subscription fee.

Wow I didn’t realise why I hated all these task managers like Apple Reminders or Todoist (I still don’t get why everyone loves them), but I now know that it’s because managing my day is more important than anything! And being able to see the amount of time I’ve allocated to each task is what allows me to heed Parksinsons law and work toward finishing the task in that allocated time. Also being able to quickly move the whole day around because one task goes over is what made me immediately want to purchase this. If my task goes over I just run the auto scheduler again and it reorganises my day. I would love to force certain tasks (especially the ones I repeat daily) to top or bottom or middle of the list without setting the exact time so autoscheduler can sort things out for me but ensure that I do the read emails task at the end of the day (whatever time that might be) rather than the middle.
