Add added the Waveshare USB board to add a wireless USB keyboard to my rPI CM4 carrier board since the default ports aren't enabled by default. I was wasn't using Raspian so I couldn't just use the device tree overlay to enable them on boot. The first boot everything went fine but I moved the keyboard to a different USB port on the second boot and the TLV62130 chip (step down converter) caught fire like a candle. I contacted Waveshare through the support links provided by Amazon and they were not helpful. After I sent in pictures of the board and power supply (at their request), the told me they couldn't support the product since I didn't purchase it directly from them. Buyer beware.
One major flaw, power. The RPI uses a standard floppy power connect. The power connect on this is the right header, however the pinout is incorrect. What's marked as 12v on the board is actually the floppy 5v.
Waveshare does not provide a cable to connect power to the RPI, or to correct this in the box. If you connect this direct to an arc power supply, it will be connected to the 5v rail and not the 12v rail. The device is indeed set up to run off 12v and not 5v.
Poor oversight on waveshare part. Otherwise, works as expected for the vl805 chipset with drivers already built in.
