Casay on the Beach is closed for a makeover and will reopen in October 2024. Bayside Bar and Grill at Pacific Bay Resort is open 7 days a week and are a two-minute drive or 10 to 15 minute walk away.

Location and accommodation were as expected. We were not told at booking (booked direct) that the restaurant, bar, & main pool area and that entire end of the property were under construction and not available for access at all. This put huge pressure on 1 x pool and 1 x hot tub area which was in the kids 'Dragon Water' area. Plus no food of drinks available anywhere on site. Nice location, poor management. Especially during school holidays.

Disappointed!!

Not one for leaving negative feedback, but here goes. Upon arrival we were told that there were no dining facilities and no bar and that the main pool was closed due to refurbishment. This I feel should have been relayed to us prior to arrival. The rooms are tired and in need of a lick of paint, at the very least. The carpet was dirty. On the plus side, the bed was comfy and the resort is located near a beautiful beach. Whilst I understand it is not the summer season, yet, in Australia, I believe communication was poor and guests should be warned of the lack of facilities prior to arrival.

Nothing was open, the restaurant, bar, pools and hard to access the reception. Very disappointing. Perhaps inform the guests that you are undergoing renovations before they turn up! Especially considering it is a resort, which most assume you can dine at a resort, in which we could not.

Total let-down. Over priced.

Go somewhere else. Renovations unadvertised and unapologetic to just tell people to go to another motel for breakfast, terrible wifi, old tired rooms. Way overpriced for what you get. Rely on location only. Don't stay in the front section or you'll end up listening to power tools all day. All other hotel rooms and cleanliness will be better.

I try not to write negative reviews however I feel it's important given the lack of transparency from Breakfree Aanuka. My son and I had an overnight stay. For the price we paid we were incredibly underwhelmed. They are currently undergoing renovations so the restaurant isn't in operation and the main pool (the stunning one in all the pictures) isn't open. For us with the travel this is one of the main reasons we booked. Onsite facilities to enjoy before hitting the road again. There was no communication in the lead up to our stay about the facilities not being open due to renovation. It's all a little chaotic upon arrival with workers taking up the majority of the space near reception. The room was absolutely tiny for the price we paid. The television didn't work, although management did rectify that in the evening. The blinds in the room didn't work properly so the lights on at night (outside our room) meant for very broken sleep. Whilst the room was clean it was very dated, particularly the bathroom. Access to diggers beach was the highlight, it's so very beautiful. Such a shame that Breakfree Aanuka is lacking the transparency around renovations and onsite facilities not being available, the pricing should reflect this, it doesn't. I feel like we were taken advantage of to be honest. Call before you book, see what is and isn't available. This place will not doubt be wonderful when the renovations are complete
