From the first greeting at the porte cochere to the sad day we had to leave, The Savoy provided a truly memorable experience. Check in was an absolute delight as Ben (in training) introduced us to the hotel. His knowledge, charm and palpable love for his work created the makings of a wonderful three day stay. Our room was beautiful, clean and well appointed. A visit to the spa is a must. The American Bar provided entertainment by a wonderful pianist and the vast array of cocktails was well worth trying. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to a once in a lifetime (or not!) experience.

Given a free upgrade which was very kind of the Savoy, the lift was out of order nearest to us but this got repaired before we left. Sadly we didn't get to see the Winston Churchill area which was a shame however, we had a beautiful and spacious room with amazing views. Its an amazing place to stay and the views over the Thames made the stay well worth a visit. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Horrible experience. Not to be overly paranoid it certainly seemed to us that when the desk discovered we were Americans he assigned us a broom closet seemingly miles from civilization. Some liveried fellow walked into our room unannounced and unapologetic. Dinner in the grill was unimpressive at best. We were naive enough to expect a once in a lifetime experience. All I feel for the Savoy is embarrassment.

We arrived early to be greeted at reception by Abigail. A very friendly and efficient first check-in. As our room was not ready, the luggage was stored and we left for our day shopping in London. Abigail said she would send a text the moment the room was ready and true to her word this came in shortly after we left. We arrived back and this time we were greeted by Ben (he like Abigail was in training). What a great person to have on check in. Extreemly friendly, relaxed, with an excellent manner. He personally took us to our room, 441 ensuring we had everything. As we mentioned we were celebrating my partner, Peter Hubbards birthday, he kindly arranged a voucher so we could have a complementary glass of champagne. We made a short stop in the Residents Lounge, for our glass of champagne and Teng looked after us. Another friendly, professional member of the Savoy Team. Before our dinner in the Savoy Grill we had a table booked in the American Bar. Chloe looked after us. What a star. Such a friendly manner. We ordered a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne, explained we might not finish it all so could we take it through to the restaurant. When the time came Chloe personally walked us to the restaurant and passed over the bottle to our restaurant waiter. Thank you Chloe for making our evening special. The Savoy Grill was good, Tanzi looked after us and once again her high level of service made the dining experience a pleasure. We enjoyed the Arnold Bennett Soufflé, followed by Poached Turbot Veronique. We even made room for the Apple tart tatin. All accompanied with some very nice wines, recommended by the excellent sommelier Emin (we could not remember his full name) When it came to after dinner drinks, we went to the Beaufort bar. It was very quiet, as it was a Tuesday night, but the service did not suffer. We enjoyed a few drinks before retiring to bed. When we arrived back we noticed as well as both commented on what an extraordinary Turn Down service we had received. Everything was neatly arranged in the bathroom, fresh bath salts, towels, water by the side of the bed, slippers laid out, even the cables from our iPhone and laptop had been neatly rolled. The 'Best' turndown we have received in a long time. After breakfast came time to check out. We had another Ben (this time not in training). Another member of the Savoy Team. The printer would not work so he quickly signed into his laptop to show us a breakdown of the bill. Keeping calm as well as a sense of humour about the situation. Finally Rob, one of the concierge team who meet and greet you outside the hotel. In all the years we have been visiting his friendly, professional manner is always outstanding. We always say the arrival and departure at any hotel either makes or breaks a stay. Our stay at the Savoy has been amazing. Thank you to all the team for making it so. The hotel is still going through renovation however, we were not impacted in any way by this and look forwards to a return visit in 2025.

Superb hotel ,spotlessly clean, great breakfast . And if you book well in advance not overly priced. Perfect location for theatres ,restaurants , tubes , train stations, museums and London many attractions. Couldn’t fault this hotel will be back .
