To qualify my review I have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the course of 15+ years. This stay was 5 nights . This visit I learned the ‘hotel’ no longer does any housekeeping at all as standard - so they don’t touch your rooms for the entirety of the stay unless requested. I was not told this on check in - but told emphatically (several times) when I took my rubbish down to reception myself on the 5th evening of my stay and asked for fresh towels. What I still do not understand (and the receptionist could not explain) is why they put ‘do not disturb’ hangers in the room if there is no routine house keeping. I don’t mind asking for towels but for the room rates here I don’t expect to be carting rubbish around or being patronised by staff for expecting basic house keeping. I also think it’s misleading not to state this when booking as there are services you expect from a hotel. I really like the location and the rooms but I doubt I will return now, which is a shame.

Sometimes our guests interrupt our explanations with already knowing everything because they have been with us multiple times. We unfortunately not immediately know, when the last stay was. For these occasions, we inform again with an information sheet right on your bed within the room. We also automatically remove the trash daily from the rooms, except when there is the 'do not disturb'-sign hanging. Then we do not disturb. Your satisfaction is very important to us and it would be our pleasure to welcome you back to demonstrate our high standards of service and hospitality. Easily accessible by public transport, the hotel is very handy for lots of activity in central Berlin. Very comfortable stay with a luxurious bathroom and lots of space. Staff were very helpful and courteous. Would definitely come back.

This is such a great hotel and would highly recommend if you are planning a trip to Berlin. The staff (everyone from front desk, breakfast staff, cleaners and maintenance) are so friendly and welcoming. The front desk staff are outstanding and exceptional - very helpful and wonderful smiles! The room I had was very comfortable and fairly quiet at night. The shower is really great with hard water pressure. The hotel is centrally located and close to shops, plenty of gay bars and restaurants. I will definitely be back when I return to Berlin.

Great location, safe, modern clean lodging in between 2 metro stations

This is a surprisingly small hotel (just 13 rooms on each of six floors) but it was very comfortable, clean and perfectly located less than ten minutes from two different metro stations, in the middle between them. It's also near two local supermarkets. Front desk is staffed 24/7 and housekeeping is available daily but only upon request. The only issue I had was with the bath gel container attached to the shower wall not working (the pump was jammed). So I had to get out, wet, go find one I had packed with me from a previous hotel, and get back in to use that instead. A maintenance worker did respond quickly when I went down to tell them (phone wasn't working at the time either) and he confirmed it was broken, confiding that it was a manufacturer issue happening in other rooms as well. He replaced it with a new working one and all was fine after that. Still, I'd recommend testing that as well as the shampoo before getting in the shower, just in case, when you check in. My room rate didn't include breakfast (it seems most don't, in Europe, in my experience) so I cannot comment on the food. Daily newspaper was provided and there is one small working elevator. I would stay here again.
