We planned to stay one night (Saturday 15th September), but timed our arrival to land during the worst storm in 30 years. Our plan was to head to Hallstatt on the 16th, and on to Salzburg on the 17th, but none of this happened as the railway running west fron Vienna was closed throughout this period due to flooding. We stayed in a standard room overlooking the inner courtyard, so no view except for a blank wall on the otherside of the court yard. The room was very comfortable. The kitchen area had some very basic cooking equipment which we didn't use as we went out for dinner. There is a small supermarket (Billa) a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. There is a larger InterSpar (or something like that) at Vienna Mitte station (where the City Airport Train goes to), which is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Transport is good - there is a stop for route 1 just outside the hotel to the right (it will take you anti-clockwise around the north and west edge of the central zone). There is also a stop for route 2 outside the front door to the left, which will take you clockwise around the east and south side of the central area. You can also change from route 1 to route 2 (and vice versa) at the Parliament stop in the south-west corner of the central area to give you a ride around the edge of the city and back to the hotel. Google 'Bigboy travel Vienna tram tour' and you'll find a map which tells you what you can see. The Underground has stops at Schwedenplatz and Stubentor (lines U1 and U3 respectively), each about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. As our travel plans were disrupted, we ended up staying Sunday night as well, this time in a room with a city view - thanks to the very helpful member of staff on reception on Sunday afternoon. We did enquire about staying Monday night as well, but the price went up considerably and we found a cheaper apartment across the city which was also very good. We made good use of the luggage store room before and after each stay - saves lugging bags around the city. We would definitely stay here again, provided the price is right!

Poor service, lack of accountability, and safety concerns during stay.

This was the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. I paid an additional 60 Euros for a late check-out until 4 PM, which had been confirmed and paid for in advance. However, on the day of check-out, while I was taking a shower around noon, I heard someone open the door and enter the room. I was shocked and felt extremely unsafe. I immediately called the reception, and they informed me that it was likely the housekeeping staff, who were unaware of the late check-out. Yet, there was no accountability or apology given for this incident. It’s unacceptable that a hotel of this standard cannot ensure the safety and privacy of its guests. After this, I packed my things and went down to check out at 2 PM. I asked for an explanation regarding the incident, but the same guest service staff, who clearly had no sense of customer service, said that the system showed the late check-out but didn’t know how this happened. He blamed the housekeeping team, saying that he didn’t know or do anything wrong, and still, no one took responsibility. Neither the staff nor the hotel investigated the situation seriously. There was poor communication between departments, no formal apology, or a clear explanation. This made me feel completely undervalued as a guest, and I did not receive the level of service expected from an Accor hotel, which emphasizes high standards of service, safety, and privacy. Moreover, the attitude of the staff was unfriendly and indifferent. Even the receipt, which had an incorrect address, was not rectified as promised. I was told to wait for the manager to fix it, and to this day, I still haven't received the corrected receipt via email. This was a very disappointing experience with the Accor group, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. I hope the hotel improves its service by prioritizing better service standards, safety, and customer care.

Clean, cosy, comfortable stay for a family

Our room was big, very clean and comfortable, with many amenities such as kitchen, microwave, fridge, freezer, coffee maker, ironing board, etc. We used the gym, the children played at the game area that was near the reception. The hotel is at a very convenient location, ten minutes walk from the center, there is the tram/bus station outside the hotel and the metro station 5 minutes from the hotel. The staff was very polite and helpful. I didn't mind that they don't clean the hotel every day because we could take our garbage in the special room in our floor, separate the plastic, the paper etc, and we could get clean towels whenever we needed. I would choose Aparthotel Adagio again!

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with this place. The first problem we encountered was the closure of the roads leading to the hotel; no one informed us about this beforehand. The navigation system went completely crazy, so we tried to call the hotel for directions. We tried calling for an hour, making about 20 calls, but without success. After an hour of circling the city center, we finally arrived at the hotel. It turned out that the receptionist had been ignoring our calls because she was busy chatting with a friend. When my husband pointed out that she had not answered our calls, she became rude and very offended. She handed us the room keys with great reluctance and didn't even mention what time breakfast was or provide any other information that a professional staff would give at check-in. I am seven months pregnant and really needed to drive up to the hotel to drop off our things so I wouldn't have to carry them. I don't understand such behavior and lack of professionalism and empathy. It was clear we were a great inconvenience to her. Additionally, exhausted after an hour of trying to find the way to the hotel, I arrived at a room that smelled of cigarettes, which was the last straw. There was no point in relying on the offended receptionist. I didn't sleep all night because we had to keep the window open despite the loud noise. This hotel was supposed to be a restful stop on our journey but turned out to be a nightmare. The breakfast was also nothing special, and those who came later, but still within breakfast hours, couldn't get the same selection as earlier guests. I have never been to a place where customers are treated so poorly.

I stayed here for 5 nights while in Vienna on business. The staff are absolutely lovely and very helpful. The rooms are well equipped and the bed is comfy. The breakfast has pretty much everything you would want for breakfast, plus some random dishes (spaghetti carbonara being a good example) There are loads of good restaurants nearby and it’s only a short walk from Schwedenplatz U-bahn station. Landstrasse U-bahn station (where the airport CAT stops) is about a 10 minute walk or 1 U-bahn stop. I would definitely stay here again (in fact I’m going back there for 1 night next week)
