Lovely hotel in a great location with good service

This was our second time staying in this hotel since our first visit 8 years ago. The room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is in a great location just a walk across the bridge and old town is within reach. The staff were friendly and helpful also

Dark rooms and uncomfortable beds.

Room is so dark it’s impossible to see anything . Badly needs some lighting. . Indoor shutter broken-( took 24 hours and many requests before it was fixed after we had to sleep with it broken for a night). Beds are way too soft. We requested firm beds but as yet-( night two)- the mattresses have not been changed. Very sore backs this morning. It is now 2015 pm and we are still waiting for housekeeping to change the mattresses. So disappointing as after a full day sightseeing we are keen to shower but forced to hang around waiting for the promised mattress change. In room telephone works sporadically … The breakfast was great and the view from breakfast is amazing. This does not make up for the fact that the number one requirement of a hotel is a good night’s sleep. Sofitel, you can do way way better… and someone please come already to change the mattresses

great city stay offering superlative service

nice, chic hotel right at the happening end of the Danube canal What I loved most: - grand welcoming lobby staffed with some pleasant smiling faces everywhere - large comfortable room with an interesting bath area stocked up with quirky, eco-friendly toiletries - nice expansive views of the canal, ferris wheel, and the city - prompt, helpful service personnel always willing to assist with a smile - a small hamam for some unconventional recreation Only thing I found odd was an awkwardly wobbling bedding piece placed on top of the mattress which we removed with some difficulty. Thankfully, and very sensibly, i must say, the HK staff didn't put it back during turndown. But that was just us, it's probably a cultural lifestyle accessory we are not used to! About the location: - not very far from the city center and the main train station. Though not exactly walkable but easy 5-10 min to all the major attractions by car or a Lime ride if you're up to it! - loads of restaurants, gelaterias, bars, street food action close by. The canal has a nice, mini Sydney harbour-like vibe with lot of cool bars and restaurants. and it's right across from the hotel. - great place for a lovely romantic walk around the canal - we were told the City Line ferries to Bratislava and other nearby destinations leave from the dock nearby (though we did not take the ferry) Overall, very nice hotel for an affordable yet luxurious city stay.

Roof top bar a must visit at sunset

We booked the hotel due to the rooftop bar and location. It didn’t disappoint. Definitely make a booking in the restaurant, sadly we didn’t so couldn’t get in. If the steak at the bar was anything to go by we missed out. Was AMAZING. The rooms were crisp white and clean.

The best breakfast ever had. The view of the roof is stunning. Champagne served, the best poached eggs ever had. Even if you Don t stay at So, you should have breakfast. The room is super comfy with stunning view to Saint Stephen church. Definitely, we will come back !
