We had a short stay the Sofitel Brisbane having had 3 nights at the Sofitel Noosa. What a difference. Staff appeared much more attentive and the check in process was smooth. It was quite a business like hotel, and everything worked well. Although the room wasn’t overly modern, the bed was extremely comfortable for the one night we were staying. Breakfast was very good. Would definitely stay here again if we are ever in Brisbane.

Like most people, the location is great and public amenities good. The bed and pillows were comfy as long as you’re not tall. Great to have in room coffee. I love walking into the Sofitel and their signature giving a sense of calm and luxe to take you somewhere else. Sadly, the foyer is where the scent and senses were left. For 5 star, the rooms are dated and not clean to the standard expected. Top of the basins not cleaned properly where the plug sits, vent grills covered in dust. Aged iron boards. The towels could be replaced.

great location and front desk staff, but old and tired hotel, not five star.

First the positive, this hotel is in a great location, right above the train station, and easy to access by train. The front desk staff were professional, friendly and welcoming, which gives a great first impression. Unfortunately this hotel is very old and tired, as several other reviews have noted, the rooms are in serious need of a refresh, it felt very old and dated, with an A/C that hardly worked, and a shower that spread water all over the floor in the tiny little bathroom. In room dining was also very disappointing, what was delivered was certainly not what was described on the menu. This hotel advertises itself at a five star establishment, and yet I have had much nicer stays in four star hotels. This hotel has skated by on it's amazing location and slick french branding, but it falls significantly short of what you would expect from a Sofitel.

Great experience at Sofitel Brisbane. Hubby booked a King Executive Suite for a night to celebrate my birthday during our trip to Brisbane to visit our daughter. Room was amazing! Bed super comfy and I had a great nights sleep. Downfalls are …. Customer service at check-in counter really lacked that welcoming attitude. My husband was handed a welcome chocolate by this staff member whilst I stood there and recieved none. I’ve never experienced this before at a Sofitel hotel and especially as we are Accor Plus Gold members. The carpet in the room was dirty and not cleaned. Despite these two minor issues I still highly recommend and would return again. Five stars otherwise.
