I had a meeting in a building directly behind the hotel so this was a great place for me. I enjoyed looking out the window at the z00 - although I saw no animals from there, I saw the leaves turning on the trees, The staff were all kind and pleasant to work with.

Room was fine, but staff very unfriendly and spa not working

We booked this hotel because it had a spa (sauna, steambath and pool). Upon arrival it turned out the sauna and steam bath were not working. This was nog mentioned on the hotel page and we received no message about this. Had we known, we would have booked a hotel that was less expensive and had a better location. No compensation (drink or points) were offered for the inconvenience. The pool was quite cold and very busy with unsupervised children. Staff was very unfriendly. Upon arrival not even a hello. As a platinum member I did not receive the drinks voucher, but I thought the new online vouchers would be used, so didn’t say anything. When going for a drink 2 days later it was implied that I lied about not receiving it. When checking out I asked to pat with points. This was done by an other man, I thought the number in the confirmation text was the code, when I said the number he literally snapped at me. He then also snapped at other staff members that were doing something else. No question like “how was your stay”, no question if we needed help with a taxi, not a “thank you for your stay”. I would not recommend the hotel, given the higher price compared to other Accor hotels in the area, the unfriendly and rude behavior of staff and the lack of notification that large parts of the spa were not working.

Despite being a regular got put up in the South wing. Had pre-ordered a salad for lunch with the booking as I had only a limited slot between checking in and commitments. Were unable to execute on this properly - but neither reception nor room service picked up the phone on me. So had to walk 5 min each from South wing to reception and back, which ate up the rest of my slot. I find their new “scent concept” offensive which hits you walking in and is the reason why I don’t want to eat in the bar/restaurant anymore. I think it’s time to switch hotels in BER.

When arriving to the hotel, we entered the reception and there has been a nice lady welcoming us. By saying my name, the lady from the next counter turned around and sneak into our conversation. She was very harsh and explained me about the breakfast rules, as I didnt book breakfast in advance. She offered a 50% discount if we would book the breakfast during our check in. As we have been invite for external breakfast on day one, I wanted to book breakfast for day two.... but with the discount this wasnt possible, as the discount was only for the whole stay. If thats the rule, its totally nonsense in my view, if the discount is a service or benefit from the hotel, why should I book it to waste the food... with better calculation due to the discount planning, it would be much more efficient. So in the end we didnt went for breakfast and used the hotel only during the night, which didnt bring any additional value.
