You won't get any sleep here

This is a terrible hotel. Reception staff did not seem to be able to find my reservation or that part of the cost was to be paid for by All Accor points. Room was cold as window had been left open all day. Don't expect to get any sleep. Hotel is adjacent to a road with heavy traffic through the night, so loads of noise and this kept me wake all night even though I was wearing ear plugs. Suggest that some IBIS senior management need to come and sleep in this hotel so they can experience just how bad the noise is. Following day, arriving back at 9.30pm, room window was open, room was again cold (it had rained all day) and insects had got into the room (Craneflies/daddy long legs). No heating and a dirty bathroom floor around the toilet. AVOID this place. Price is exhorbitant for what is on offer.

The online booking was easy and a pleasant experience. The price was very expensive £170 for a twin room. It was easy to get to. When I arrived and said my name immediately I was greeted with you cannot check in until 3pm. It would have been more polite to ask if I had booked an early check in. I had to explain that I had booked an early check in at a cost of an extra £20. She said I'll check and see if the room is ready. Ni customer skills what so ever it was like I was being done a favour for staying and paying in their over inflated priced hotel. We then went up to the room. It was a pod barely a room. Not enough sockets about only 2 single sockets and a 3 way cube on the desk. Very basic. The window was open and the air conditioning didn't work. I passed on that the air conditioning didn't work whilst we went out for the day and night. We came back and no one had ever lolled at the air conditioning. Luckily enough I reseated the stat correctly on the base and it started working. Not that it really cooled the room down. In the morning as we left I said thank you and goodbye to the lady on the bar / reception only to be ignored. It's a shame as I think IBIS was one of the first ever hotels I stayed in.

It is well located, we had a good sleep although cleanliness needs improvement. When we arrive both of the side table had a slimy clear sticky substance on top of it, luckily I had wipes sanitiser to remove it, shower room had body-hairs on the wall and floor, lastly upon entering the room it smelled damp. So please kindly remind your housekeepers to clean thoroughly the room and should be visually checked by supervisors after room cleaned to make sure it will be pleasant to the next guest. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed the crepe cooking :-) we hope on out next visit cleanliness is up to the standard. Thank you!!

Small hotel ,welcoming, one person manning the 24 hr reception at any time . Breakfast was on till lunchtime over the bank holiday (not sure if that runs as a permanent fixture) and was a good selection of full English, cereals , fruit yogurt and small selection of pastries . We did find it odd that the dining area is basically in the reception area but it doesnt effect you dining because it didn’t appear to get busy. Complimentary earplugs are offered as the hotel does face a busy road and sirens and general traffic can be heard thru out the night . Room was basic but overall good , shower was decent. However we noticed after being out all day and most of the evening that when the cleaners had been in all They had appeared to do was make the bed ,give fresh towels (albeit only one) and wipe the sink and floor in bathroom . No extra tea bags or milk were left (i always take my own) and the dressing table still had a spillage mark from when we arrived. Husband also had to put back some slats on the bed that kept coming loose during the night . Its was cheap considering bank hols and its a short walk to shops and trains
