Would You Work For Capcom Questions (RE)

Okay, I don’t know if any of you other fan ever asked these questions, but, I think it would be good food for thought. So, I was talking to my brother about Resident Evil and how it seem that saga is more action then horror and to tell you the truth a part of my died a bit inside. I loved RE4 because it had the perfect mix of both. The fact that they turned away from that is very sad. I mean if something isn’t broken don’t fix it. Not to mention that they missed out on good twists to make the story more interesting is sad too.

But, I’m not here to rant, I’m here ask questions. So, while talking to my brother he said that ‘If you want something done right do it yourself’, that first I thought that was mean. But, after thinking about it for a few days to a few months, I realized he is right sometime you need to take matters into own hands. So, I started of questions, that I would make good discussion. So, comment your answers to the question, read other fans comments and/or answer other fans comments and talk about ideas. Have fun everyone and feel free to talk.

Questions:

If you were to work for Capcom what kind of games would you make?

If you worked your way up to one of the high positions in Capcom would you reboot the Resident Evil Saga?

If you did reboot Resident Evil what would you change or add?

Would you listen to fans?

If you are working with other fans in Capcom would you make a team to work on Resident Evil saga or other games you like?

If you were part of the Reboot Resident Evil Saga what part the team would you be?

How would you bring survival horror back to Resident Evil?

Would you change any of the characters or add anything to them?

Edits 3/5/15……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

My answers to first batch of questions:

Q: If you were to work for Capcom what kind of games would you make?

A: I would work my way up the Capcom ladder to create games based off myth and science.

Q: If you worked your way up to one of the high positions in Capcom would you reboot the Resident Evil Saga?

A: Yes.

Q: If you did reboot Resident Evil what would you change or add?

A: I would re-arrange the story and not force on just two (Chris and Leon have had enough of the spot light), fix loop holes and maybe add a character or two to make things interesting.

Q: Would you listen to fans?

A: Yes, but, there is a limit to what I add. I know I can’t add, so, I would only take the most important feedback.

Q: If you are working with other fans in Capcom would you make a team to work on Resident Evil saga or other games you like?

A: I would work with both other fans and I would work with non-fans for different point of views.

Q: If you were part of the Reboot Resident Evil Saga what part the team would you be?

A: I would be a Story Writer or work in Character and Monster design.

Q: How would you bring survival horror back to Resident Evil?

A: Let’s say I would go to the movie theater, buy tricks to the horror movies, go in, sit in the back, watch the other people watching movie, take notes on what SCARYS THE LIVING F***ING HELL OF THEM, then take that information and see how I add it into the game. Though, I’m not going to pay attention to horror movie idiocy, I’d find other ways to make it work.

Q: Would you change any of the characters or add anything to them?

A: Change some of characters fates and change some of the partners on missions (I partner up Leon with Sherry or Barry, oh, or maybe Sherry with Barry).

New Questions (Remember you can read each other’s answers)

What kind of villains would you add or change in Resident Evil?

What kind of puzzles would you add (So easy I solve them in my sleep, a manageable, rage-quit hard or maybe all three)?

How would you fix loop-holes?

What kind of character would you add?

What kind of maps and environments would you make (the point A to point B, the you need to remember where everything is, the wtf am I look at or maybe all three)?

What kind of monsters would make?

Add any new viruses?

Would you make the games co-op, campaign or simple one player story?

My response would be a brief in the opposite to the whole survey. I think the old Resident Evil formula fitted perfectly in his generation of consoles. The audiences nowadays demand for a more cinematic and detailed immersive experience. Not that I share that perception, but it seems to be the trend, So resident evil in an attempt to follow that market without getting behind, destroyed what it originally made it fun.
Now all that is left is our love for the characters that we've seen grow to the Racoon incidents; for instance I love the mercenaries 3D game even though is solely the action segment of the whole (with many may argue that is the cancer to the RE franchise) but it has my favorite characters except for Leon wich sucks. I also liked the Co-op split mission in RE6 because I could play it with my brother, but I think the classic isolation of RE dies with it.

Capcom seems to be doing that a lot in this generation, with franchises like megaman and such, and all I can think off is that Resident evil can't be as it used to in these times, perhaps reworking the classic formula could  work in portable consoles, wich allows a more open perspective of games. And the reboot I've been thinking about it, and I think is necessary, but I not sure if fans like me would like the results.

Sorry if didn't answer the questions precisely, but I'm no game designer and my native language is not English so I could find rather difficult to express my myself in a more precise way when it comes to a critique, thanks for inviting me to your discussion about the RE :)
