How to sign in to the app as an ESC member
If you are entitled to access any journal in the app through your ESC membership, you can sign in to the app in two ways:
- Whenever you tap to ‘Download’ an issue, you will be prompted to sign in if you do not already have access to it. Tap the link under ‘Society member’ to sign in via the ESC's member sign-in page. A new page (on the ESC's site) will then display within the app, where you can enter your username and password to sign in. Once you have signed in, the page will close and you will have access to the app content (you may briefly see the journal homepage appear after you’ve successfully signed in, but you will return to the app soon after).
- You can proactively sign in at any time from the ‘Accounts’ screen, accessed via the main menu. Again, tap the link under ‘Society member’ to sign in via ESC's site. Follow the same steps as described above.
You will remain signed in for 90 days, after which time the app will prompt you to sign in again to continue downloading new content. Previously downloaded content will remain available to you. You can choose to sign out at any point during the 90-day period by going to the ‘Accounts’ screen and tapping ‘Sign out of all accounts’.
The app will also allow personal subscribers to sign in, and it will automatically detect and provide access if your institution makes the ESC’s journals published by Oxford University Press available through a relevant Wi-Fi network you use. If you want to know more about this or have any other questions about the new app, please visit the Journals App FAQs page.
