Legislative Priorities

Agriculture is the cornerstone of Ventura County’s economy, supporting thousands of jobs throughout our region. It is also a proud part of our heritage, giving our community its unique beauty. In Congress, I have worked hard to support our farmers, farmworkers, and businesses that help feed the nation.

We have a sacred responsibility to those who have served our country in uniform. As a daughter, sister, and niece of veterans, I take no responsibility more personally and seriously. When I came to Congress, the very first committee I asked to serve on was the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee. Both here in Ventura County and at the national level, I have made it my priority to put our nation’s veterans first. That means helping our servicemembers transition back into civilian life and caring for our veterans by ensuring they all receive the timely, high-quality healthcare and benefits they have earned and deserve. It also means tackling veterans homelessness and unemployment and addressing high suicide rates that continue to plague our nation’s heroes. Finally, as more and more women join our Armed Forces and return home after their service, I’ve made it a special focus to ensure that the VA is prepared for the changing veteran demographics. Women represent the fastest-growing veteran population and the VA needs to adapt to meet their needs. That means making sure the VA offers gender-specific healthcare, addressing the unique circumstances leading to female veteran suicide, and providing critical wrap-around services like job-training, child care, and caregiver assistance. It’s long past time to recognize the contributions that all veterans, female and male, have made to our great nation.

We must invest in our nation’s infrastructure including our airports, roads, bridges, and waterways that are vital to the movement of people and goods across our country. As a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I have been working to address the infrastructure challenges facing Ventura County and the nation.

As Ventura County’s Representative in Congress, I view everything I do through the lens of how it will create jobs and grow our economy. From our ports, to our large and small businesses, to our naval base, to our agricultural community, I strive to advance federal policy that will support our diverse job creators.

The 26th District

The district includes most of Ventura County and a portion of Los Angeles County, including the cities of Oxnard, Santa Paula, Fillmore, Camarillo, Newbury Park, Moorpark, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, and Calabasas. If you are interested in browsing district-specific population statistics, you can look up Census data for the 26th District. I am honored to serve the residents of the 26th Congressional District of California.

My office has worked on more than 15,800 constituent cases and delivered over $34.5 million in benefits to individuals and families throughout #VenturaCounty and the Conejo Valley who needed assistance with a federal agency – including Nicola from Oxnard.

Recently, my office assisted ...Nicola, who was facing a challenge with her immigration status due to missing documentation. This issue affected her job at a local non-profit, and she needed urgent help to resolve it.

Nicola contacted my office for assistance, and my dedicated staff promptly filed the necessary paperwork and information with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Thanks to our prompt action, USCIS quickly processed Nicola's application and soon after we were notified that Nicola’s immigration status had been properly adjusted and allowed her to return to work. Nicola and her employer were incredibly grateful for my office’s help with her case.

Constituent services continue to be my top priority! If you or someone you know needs assistance with a federal agency, please do not hesitate to call my office at (805) 379-1779. I am here to help!

On Día de Los Muertos 💀🕯️, we remember our loved ones who have passed and honor our ancestors. This vibrant Mexican tradition invites us to celebrate the lives and legacies of those who have departed, reminding us that love transcends time.

Let us gather in joy, creating altars ...adorned with marigolds, photographs, and favorite foods, as we share the memories that keep them alive in our hearts. 🧡🧡🧡

As little ghouls and ghosts come out tonight, I wish everyone across #VenturaCounty and the Conejo Valley a safe, spooky, and happy Halloween! 🎃

Happy #Diwali to everyone celebrating the #FestivalOfLights across #VenturaCounty, the Conejo Valley, and around the world.

I wish you and your loved ones a joyous holiday filled with brightness, hope, and happiness.

I am pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of the Interior recently awarded $20 million to United Water Conservation District and $12 million to California Trout for projects to restore and protect aquatic ecosystems throughout #VenturaCounty. As part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s ...Investing in America Agenda, this funding will not only improve local water infrastructure and water supplies, but these projects will have widespread regional benefits and improve the health of fisheries, wildlife, and aquatic habitats of the Santa Clara River and Santa Paula Creek.

I am so proud of our region’s collaborative effort to secure this major investment in the conservation and stewardship of our public lands that will lead to better outdoor spaces and habitats for people and wildlife for generations to come.

Congratulations to the 2024 World Series Champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers! 💙💙💙

It was an amazing season and an even more amazing postseason with a very well-deserved win! #GoBlue

🚢 Exciting news! Over the past year, I have worked closely with the Port of Hueneme to secure over $42 million in federal funding to expand the Port’s innovative sustainability efforts.

This historic investment, made possible by the Biden-Harris Administration’s Inflation Reduction ...Act, will accelerate the Port’s zero-emission transformation and is a testament to its bold environmental initiatives.

As an essential economic driver for #VenturaCounty, the Port’s commitment to a cleaner future will yield substantial benefits for the community, including improved air quality, public health, job creation, and workforce development.

Attention #VenturaCounty Veterans: Tomorrow, October 23, at 6:00 PM, the VA will be hosting a Veterans Town Hall to provide an update on the improvements being made to address veterans’ concerns regarding provider availability and appointment wait times at the Captain Rosemary Bryant Mariner VA ...Clinic in Ventura. This is an opportunity for veterans to speak directly to VA, and I encourage our local veterans to participate in this forum and make their voices heard.

The town hall will be held at Mission Church, located at 5353 Walker St. in Ventura. The town hall will also be live streamed. To learn more, visit ⤵
