Maintenance of Tbaytel systems and networks is necessary to ensure Tbaytel delivers quality service to you, our valued customers. We apologize for the inconvenience as we continue to make significant improvements to our network to ensure we are meeting your expectations. We thank you for your patience and understanding, and continued support.

Troubleshooting Tip: If you are experiencing a loss of service outside of a maintenance window; power off the affected Tbaytel equipment, then power it back on after 30 seconds. For step-by-step instructions, visit the Support section and select the affected product.

5G - Ongoing Maintenance

Tbaytel will be performing necessary work in order to prepare our towers for the launch of 5G. This work may result in degradation to our services including calls, text, and data, during each maintenance window. The following list is upcoming scheduled work:

  • Schreiber: Brief HSPA degradation on Aug 16, full LTE outage between Aug 17 - Aug 22
  • Ignace: Brief HSPA degradation on Aug 19, full LTE outage between Aug 20 - Aug 30
  • Sioux Lookout: Brief LTE degradation on Aug 27

During full LTE outages customers will experience slower data speeds, but will still have the ability to make and receive calls, send and receive text messages and use data.  Any areas experiencing an HSPA shutdown should visit tbaytel.net/hspaShutdown to check if your device supports VoLTE. Customers experiencing no service outside the indicated area or maintenance window are asked to power off their Tbaytel equipment for 30 seconds before powering back on again.


Maintenance Alert - Mobility - Longlac - June 24 to Sept 13

Tbaytel will be performing maintenance to its Mobility services starting June 24 to Sept 13 with work scheduled to take place between 8:00am to 6:30pm.  During this maintenance customers in the Longlac area may experience a loss of mobility service, including calls, SMS and data, during the scheduled work hours. Customers experiencing no service outside the maintenance window are asked to power off their mobile device for 30 seconds before powering it back on again.


Maintenance Alert - Connected Home - Gorham - Aug 15

Tbaytel will be performing maintenance to its Connected Home services on August 15 with work scheduled to take place between 2:00am to 6:00am.  During this maintenance customers in Gorham Township may experience a loss of service lasting up to 30 minutes. Customers experiencing no service outside the maintenance window are asked to power off their Tbaytel equipment for 30 seconds before powering it on again.


Maintenance Alert - Mobility - Chapleau - Aug 21

Tbaytel will be performing maintenance to its Mobility service on August 21 with work scheduled to take place between 10:00am to 2:00pm.  During this maintenance customers in Chapleau may experience a loss of service lasting up to a hour. Customers experiencing no service outside the maintenance window are asked to power off their Tbaytel equipment for 30 seconds before powering it on again.
