Your Guide to Dental School Visits
Things to know before your visit.
Pre-Appointment
- To make the most of your time and ensure a smooth visit, we kindly ask patients to complete all necessary patient forms before their scheduled appointment.
- All patients are asked to read the OHSU Dental Clinic’s Patient Appointment Protocol.
-
We kindly request patients and parents/guardians to stay connected by checking their email and phone messages regularly. This helps ensure that you have the most current and relevant information regarding your appointments, making your experience with us even more convenient and seamless. Thank you for staying in touch!
Appointment Day
At our clinic, we've implemented a series of measures to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all patients:
**Appointment Timing:**
We kindly request that patients arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before their scheduled appointment. Our timed appointment system minimizes contact between patients and providers, prioritizing everyone's safety.
**Interpreters and Essential Escorts:**
Patients who require essential assistance, including interpreters, are welcome to have one accompanying person with them. If you need an interpreter, please let us know, and we can help arrange one for your appointment.
**Safety Measures:**
Our team members wear necessary protective gear to maintain a secure environment. We've also increased the frequency of sanitizing and disinfecting throughout our clinic, including patient waiting areas, restrooms, and treatment rooms. This ensures your safety and well-being during your visit.
OHSU's patient safety information
At OHSU, you can get the highest level of care while staying safe. OHSU has created a page that provides information on how we’re protecting patients and visitors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
PLEASE NOTE: The School of Dentistry is not a part of the Virtual Video Visits program.
A message to our patients
Our community has been through a lot over the last few years. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. The School of Dentistry follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow these agencies' activities so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you and every patient safe. Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors, and friends.
