Births, deaths and marriages
- Ireland, civil registration indexes, 1845-1958 (FamilySearch) - covers non-Roman Catholic marriages from 1845; all births, deaths and marriages from 1864. From 1922 the indexes do not include events for the six counties of Northern Ireland.

Most of the Irish 19th century census records were destroyed but there are two main alternative sources:
- Ask about Ireland: Griffiths Valuation - the Primary Valuation of property in Ireland published between 1847 and 1864.
- Tithe Applotment Books - compiled between 1823 and 1837 to record the occupiers of each townland in rural areas (National Archives of Ireland)
