Lion City and Lion Village
Owned by Lion Air, Lion City is a multi-use 29.7 hectare development located in Balaraja, 38 kilometers from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, that includes crew housing, office buildings, training centers for crew and engineers and staff housing. We believe that Lion City allows us to offer employees attractive benefit such as providing approximately 5,000 of our crew and staff members with employee housing and regular transportation to the airport, which also fosters on-time flight operations.
Lion Village is a 2.14 hectare development located 12 kilometers from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. It houses APTO facilities, including flight simulators for use by APTO, and simulator facilities, spare parts storage, logistics offices, pilot accommodations and an emergency, furnishing and repair shop.
Pilot Training
Our pilots are trained at Lion Group’s Angkasa Pilot Training Organisation (“APTO”) by Angkasa Super Services – a flight school and partner of Airbus’ training organisation. Pilot who successfully undergo our training programme are issued certification including from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (“DGCA”) of Indonesia, the Civil Authority of Malaysia and the Director General of Civil Aviation of France. Our pilots exceed regulatory international requirements and are required to undergo and pass re-certification training every six months.
Crew training
Our cabin crew are recruited through a rigorous hiring process and undergo various training courses on safety, security and service, including training on mock-ups of Boeing 737-900ER, Boeing 747-400 and Airbus A320-200 aircraft. Delivering on quality in-flight services through is made possible by training programmes that comply with guidelines stipulated by the DGCA and our internal performance standards. Our cabin crew also undergo refresher courses annually on service procedures, customer care, safety and grooming.
