2024-2025 Online FREE/REDUCED Meal Application

2024-2025 Child Nutrition Informational Letter

We request ALL students to apply for the 2024-2025 school year.

In order to be considered to receive free/reduced breakfast and lunch for 2024-2025, an application must be completed.

Online and Paper Applications will be available July 1, 2024.

George County School District has phased out the free lunch program for school year 2024-2025.  Breakfast will remain free for 2024-2025, the cost of lunch is now 2.75.

Households that submitted a Free/Reduced Application last school year, your child’s eligibility status from 2023-2024 will continue into the new school year for up to 30 operating days or until a new determination is made. The George County School District carryover period ends on September 13, 2024, your child’s meal eligibility will expire unless your household receives a (school year 2024-25) notification letter for free or reduced-price meals. Households that DID NOT submit an application last school year will begin the school year as a “paid” lunch status. Students that have a balance from previous school years, it will also carryover over into the 2024-2025 school  year.

We strongly encourage all parents and guardians to complete the Free/Reduced application, regardless of family household size or level of income. This service provides much needed assistance to meet the nutritional needs of many students. Applications are available online at https://www.gcsd.us/child-nutrition or you can fill out a paper application that is available at the front office of each school.
