Not expected to practice Wednesday Ford (knee) isn't expected to practice Wednesday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Ford was on the field for 53 of a possible 67 snaps on offense in this past Sunday's loss to the Giants, while logging 10 carries for 37 yards and three catches for 33 yards in the contest. It remains to be seen if the running back's knee issue is something that might impact his Week 4 status, but if Ford is limited or out this weekend against the Raiders, D'Onta Foreman and Gary Brightwell would be candidates for added snaps.

Impact Ford had four first-half carries for four yards while no teammate recorded more than one first-half rushing attempt as the Browns took a 21-7 deficit into the locker room. He finished the game with 10 carries compared to only two for D'Onta Foreman, and Ford posted the second-highest receiving yardage total on the team thanks to a 24-yard catch in the second half. Ford has posted between 64 and 70 scrimmage yards in each of Cleveland's first three games and should continue to lead the team's backfield in Week 4 against the Raiders since Nick Chubb (knee) is ineligible to come off the PUP list until Week 5 at the earliest.

Totals 18 touches Ford rushed the ball 12 times for 44 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 33-17 loss to the Cowboys. He added six receptions on seven targets for 25 yards.

Impact Ford unsurprisingly served as Cleveland's lead back but saw his volume on the ground limited by the game script. He made up for that with a garbage-time touchdown with 29 seconds remaining and also had strong involvement as a pass catcher. While Deshaun Watson made things difficult for the majority of the Browns' skill-position players, Ford was a beneficiary as a regular dump-off option. So long as Nick Chubb (knee) is sidelined, Ford should be capable of putting together similar results moving forward.

Impact Ford played on the Browns' first two possessions before bowing out of the contest, closing out the exhibition slate with just five carries overall across two games. Impact With Nick Chubb (knee) unavailable during the offseason, Ford was first in running back lines for spring workouts and likely heads into training camp as the lead back. The Browns could apply injury designations to Chubb and Nyheim Hines (knee) at the beginning of camp, which will cement Ford as the lead back, potentially into the regular season. If each injured back is placed on the active-physically unable to perform list, that means Chubb and Hines, both of whom are coming back from ACL injuries, won't be participating at the start of camp and remain eligible for the reserve-PUP list to start the regular season. In the event of reserve-PUP, a player will miss at least the first four games of the regular season. There are some moving parts right now, but Ford's role should sort itself out over the coming weeks.
