Impact Ankou signed with Buffalo's practice squad early in October; however, the defensive tackle has been dealing with an undisclosed injury since December. After being on the team's practice squad injured list for over a month, the 28-year-old returned to practice Thursday.

Impact Ankou was previously let go with an injury settlement by Buffalo in late August after sustaining a hamstring injury in the team's final preseason game. Ankou will serve as a potential game-day elevation behind banged-up defensive tackles Ed Oliver (ankle) and Jordan Phillips (hamstring).

Impact Ankou appeared back at practice in full pads for the first time since picking up a calf strain July 24. The 28-year-old played for five teams over his first five seasons, including six games for the Bills from Week 8 onward last year. Ankou totaled nine tackles with one sack during his time with Buffalo in 2021, and he should compete with Brandin Bryant, Prince Emili and C.J. Brewer for a reserve defensive tackle role with the team this preseason.
