The FinSA and the FinIA have brought with them a new regime for portfolio managers and trustees. In 2020 FINMA has provided information about the diverse industry and about its preparations for the entry into force of the FinSA and the FinIA.
Over 2,500 portfolio managers and trustees will apply for a licence by 2022, ranging from sole proprietorships through to larger companies with a variety of client structures and business models.
In view of the entry into force of the FinSA and the FinIA, FINMA began providing information at an early stage proactively and in dialogue with the industry about the new supervisory structure, the licensing process, the general principles of the authorisation conditions and the risk-based approach to licensing.
