Financial Stability Research
Financial stability analysis and research at the Central Bank aims to highlight key risks and vulnerabilities in the Irish and international financial sectors. A large work programme is also devoted to the interactions between the financial sector and the real economy.
Research carried out by our staff acts as an evidence base underpinning the Central Bank's macroprudential policy decisions.
In addition Macro-Financial Reviews provide a systematic overview of macro-financial conditions in Ireland and identified macro-financial risks, while Household Credit Market Reports and SME Market Reports provide an overview of developments in Irish household and Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) credit markets respectively.
The Central Bank has also published a description of its methodological toolkit for assessing the resilience of the domestic retail banking system. Such assessments form part of the Central Bank’s financial stability and macroprudential policy judgments.
