Partnering for change
Our inclusion and diversity commitments not only motivate us to improve and challenge ourselves, but are an opportunity for our suppliers and other partners to encourage progress closer to home.
How we support local & Indigenous suppliers
Through BHP’s Local Buying Programs, small local and indigenous businesses are given the opportunity to partner with BHP to supply goods and services across a range of operations. From 1 July 2021, we reduced payment terms for all small, local and indigenous businesses globally to 7 days. This change benefit approximately 4000 supply partners across 31 countries, including in our key operating regions of Australia, Chile, the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Trinidad and Tobago.
