Legislation introduced by Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) to aid foster children, families, and child welfare agencies (CWAs) was approved by the House of Representatives. Rep. Smucker’s legislation was included in the comprehensive and bipartisan Supporting America’s Children and Families Act (H.R. 9076) which reauthorizes and reforms child welfare programs authorized under Title IV-B of the Social Security Act and ensures states can continue to use contractors to support their child welfare programs, which will assist Lancaster and York County programs.
Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) advanced his workforce development policies as a part of H.R. 6655, A Stronger Workforce for America Act, which passed the House with a strong bipartisan vote of 378 to 26.

Lloyd Smucker wants to reignite the American Dream. He believes this can be achieved by working to increase economic opportunity for everyone, reining in Washington’s out-of-control spending, and providing regulatory relief to small businesses so they can expand and create jobs.
Prior to being elected to Congress, Rep. Smucker owned and operated the Smucker Company for 25 years, and grew the small business to eventually employ more than 150 people.
Rep. Smucker serves on the Committee on Ways & Means, Committee on the Budget, the Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the Joint Economic Committee.
