WordCamp Asia Contributor Day is happening on 20 Feb 2025 at PICC, Manila Philippines. @kafleg and @bijayyadav will be there leading the table. If you want to learn theme guidelines, start reviewing themes, contribute in community themes development and other areas of the themes team, join there.

You can see detailed information about Contributor Day here. We would like to see you there.

3. Community themes development

We have an initiative for community theme development, and you can also be a part of it. You can either contribute design of themes and help develop or test them. You can also review the theme’s code and make it ready for submission on WordPress.org. This is also considered as contributing to the themes team.

Recently a theme named Darken is under development and the design was submitted by @amitbajracharya and currently developing by @bijayyadav. Thank you for your contribution.

There are some PRs to review, you can also help by reviewing them. If you attend the themes table in WordCamp Asia contributor day, we’ll also discuss this more. So don’t miss the opportunity.

4. Open Floor

During the open floor, @dballari asked a question about the accessibilityAccessibility Accessibility (commonly shortened to a11y) refers to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people with disabilities. The concept of accessible design ensures both “direct access” (i.e. unassisted) and “indirect access” meaning compatibility with a person’s assistive technology (for example, computer screen readers). Introducing new Themes Team representatives for the 2025

A few weeks ago, we opened a request for individuals interested in becoming team representatives to submit their nominations. Users could nominate themselves or tag someone they believed would be well-suited for the position.

The post generated numerous comments containing nominations, many of which mentioned the names of the 2024 team reps. After consulting with some of the previous and current team reps, we decided to continue with the current team reps. If anyone else wants to take ownership of anything specific, please message the channel and discuss it.

More help is always very welcomed. The more help the reps have, the more they can achieve.

Join me in congratulating them and expressing our best wishes for a successful tenure.
