Hello Friend. There's a good chance we've already met, probably on my live stream. I've worked on a number open source contributions but my biggest "give back" is the annual Beginner Boost. My work to reform knowledge exchange, promote autodidactic learning, run afk.works, live stream, and create content and software takes time, mental and physical energy, motivation, and, yes, money. I've sacrificed most of my free time (including all gaming and hacking) and did all of this full-time for eight full years at SKILSTAK funding the effort entirely myself with early retirement money and private mentoring. But, alas, being an American over 50 with an autistic son and cancer-surviving wife allergic to fish, during Covid, I need decent insurance ($1700/month) and a mortgage.
